But but but.....Dr. House always finds the problem and fixes it in 45 minutes!  ;-)

To the OP: That was not intended to downplay the seriousness of your issue in the slightest, but rather to empathize with the medical folks about how their profession is so unrealistically portrayed in the media. I am horribly sorry you're going through this and hope that you find relief and a solution soon.

So, in all that testing, they didn't see any active bleeding?  Or just no significant source of it?  If you are vomiting, what does it look like?  Bright red blood, or more of a black coffee ground?  What about your stool, what does that look like?  They didn't even see anything like an ulcer, bulging suture line, leak, fistula, clotted areas, anything?  Anything you can correlate to these episodes (a certain food, coughing extensively, pain, ect?).  Did they do an abdominal u/s or MRA/MRI?  What does your DS surgeon say about this, he IS involved in your care, correct?????

Ok....Yes my surgeon is involved in the process along with GI specialist and a few other internal med docs.  I have had nuclear testing (that is what I meant by dye tests)... and nope no sign of anything they have said that my GI tract shows no signs....sigh...thanks for the replies....I appreciate the assistance and encouragement...just frustrated....THank you all very much!!!

I second what everyone else has said.

Get to a vetted DS surgeon - one who has done a LOT of them and seen a lot of situations regarding the DS and its possible complications.

I would also be looking for a referral to Mayo Clinic if your docs are not able to pinpoint the bleed soon.

And weight loss should be way down on your list of things to worry about right now.  Finding what is wrong with you should be number one and staying hydrated and nourished should be right under that.
