I totally get it...... I work at an elementary school. When i was 4 weeks our I went back to work (before I had anything {diet} figured out).  I too hear talk of "a smell" , unfortunately the restroom is right next to the teacher's lounge.
It was always "fun" trying to sneak into the RR when no one was looking, and then make a stealthy getaway as quickly as possible.  Lol.

You don't need to be freaked out.

Just know that you will have less bathroom issues (frequency and smell) if you eat low carb.  Also plan on using a good deodorizing spray, leaving the fan on, and keeping the bathroom door shut.

And trust me on this - RNY'ers **** stinks too.

OMG!  I am so lucky to work from home because I am really private about bathroom issues to begin with!  That is really funny though, and I would be cracking up too :)

Does the smell leave the bathroom???????????

I am glad they have no idea it is you. lol

This freaks me out too because like someone just mentioned, I am already private about bathroom stuff.  I am home most of the day with kids, but when we get out for church or to get together with friends, I hope I can hold it. Can most people hold it if they are just out for a few hours?

If I have to go, I have to go, period.  If I choose to ignore the signals, I will find myself running to a bathroom!

That being said, I don't spend my day ****ting out in public.  For most DS'ers your body will get into a routine for pooping.  I am not that fortunate, so when I have to go while I'm out I have to go find a bathroom.  I ALWAYS keep a small purse sized bottle of room spray from Bath and Body works in my purse.  It does a good job of dealing with the odor.  It isn't perfect but it is better than just leaving it to smell.

Honestly, thanks to the information I've received here, I've figured out that if I keep it low carb, very low carb!, then bathroom issues are far less offensive.  Since, for the most part, if I'm diligent with my diet i have my BMs first thing in the morn, I shouldn't have to deal with this issue, when I go back to at work in a few weeks.
