Are you excersing
My surgery is April 17th. That is the one thing I cannot wait to do is start working out again. I was walking 20 plus miles a week not quite three years ago. I love lifting weights too. I gained the majority of my weight in the last two years. Over 100 pounds in the last two years. I miss swimming and walking. Mostly though I want to get down under a 100 so I can start running. I hope knee shots will allow this. I WANT TO RUN!!!!
I already had a clinical membership at the health club at a local hospital, due to my Lupus and Fibromyalgia. It's the only one in town with a 4 foot warm water exercise pool. not a jaccuzi, but a pool that you can go into and walk around, or do exercises in while submerged. I was doing that pre-op, and continued, adding land and machine exercises post-op.
I have slacked off exercise a LOT lately, trying to do all the admin work for my upcoming skin reduction surgeries...but I have to get back on track! I'll be out of the water routine and vigorous exercise for a year, through the healing time, but I have a big apartment complex with lots of paved pathways for walking!
I'm plenty active, but working out isn't included. It bores me and keeps me from getting other things done. I like spending my energy getting things done. The closest thing I would call exercise for me is walking my dogs.

I work out but not as much as I would like! I do Zumba classes and sometimes still do aqua exercise... I jump on my elliptical when I feel up to it... tonight I'm trying a boxing conditioning class! The simple truth is that I'm often exhausted by the time I'm done working and so getting my booty to the gym is a challenge. I'm working out maybe 2 nights per week and would really like to get back to the 4-5 times I was doing before my last surgery.
As soon as I hit 3 months I joined a new gym. I work out 3-4 times a week and when the weather is good my husband and I ride bikes on the weekends. I do a lot of weights trying to muscle up and fill in the baggy skin on my legs, arms and bottom!
I always enjoyed working out and I missed it, too during my post-op. Love buying new, smaller gym clothes!
