HSA's are, I think, for people with high deductible medical insurance. An additional option is a Section 125 account (or flex account) that many employers offer.
Interestingly enough, with many employers, once you've made your first Section 125 deposit, you can go ahead and withdraw the entire year's amount. HOWEVER, you have to work out the logistics.
The doctor presents you with the bill and then you present it to your Section 125 plan and then they reimburse you. I did this with lasik. Even though I had made only one month's deposit to the account, I was allowed to withdraw the entire year's amount because the bill exceeded that. So, I not only paid for the surgery with tax-free money, but I got an interest-free loan in the process!
thats what this is, but it will cover your 1st copay, and is not limited to your insurance deductable, it can be for 50 dollars a year, or what ever minimum you account serving contractor provides. this referal is a 125 account, that an indivisual can have with out regard to a employer.
I did not research the details as i have a account thru my employer. and each individual of course has personal needs. but planning can save big bucks and new years is only 3 months away.
Walter, pardon the hi-jack- but I wanted you to know my husband's cell phone now has a listing that indicates "wife's cell" and my cell has one that indicates "husband's cell" and "husband's work" instead of our first names. Your post made sense to me and in the great scheme of things what could it hurt. I had always had my aunt listed as Aunt XX and Mother listed as Mama, and had thought well at least someone would think they were relatives.

Hmmm...well, if you if you download the brochure, it says it's for an HSA, which is a totally different animal than a Section 125 or Flex account. Some people qualify for both. We don't have high deductibles, so we can't get the HSA, but it's a great deal for those who qualify.
I dont have any deductible at all, and it covers dollar one of my copay for meds. and Aetna who manages the healthcare account for verizon has it linked to the pharmacy benefit and the health care that they adminster for us and automately pay my copays directly to my checking account. even before i get the benefit statement from them.
it labed for us as a 'health care reimbursement account.
I used it for the kids orthadontics and got paid for the doctor before i even put money in.
I cant imagine anyone paying for wls themselves wouldnt benefit from the deal, this is only one bank, others may have better offers or employers can set up a betterone yet.
