Thanks for the reply Sharon. I'm thinking maybe only medical professionals can get it now. I don't know whether I can find a doctor who would do that, but I'll try-Raphaela

Hi Sharon. I looked for the copper that you suggested, but can't find it. Would you tell me where you got it from? Raphaela

Thank you Sharon. I will give that a try. I currently take 40 mg a day, but it's not helping. Maybe it's not a good supplement. Thanks for your response ð?' ?

Thanks for your reply Holdenwhat. I am taking 40 mg of copper daily (separately from zinc) and still it doesn't go up. One doctor tried to get me infusions, but the pharmacist said they didn't have it. Go figure. I did get an iron infusion, and I am now taking desiccated liver. I also started on a ketogenic diet last month. I hope these things will make a difference. I'll see in my next labs.

Hi ð?'? Osteoporosis is scary, but now they can rebuild bone and stop bone loss. I took Tymlos for 2 years and it did just that. It's a pain taking a daily injection, but it was worth it. I wish you the best.

I don't know if Forteo is like Tymlos, but I took Tymlos for 2 years and it stopped the bone loss and rebuilt a good amount of my bone. As to checking for copper I dont think anyone checks for it routinely. Checking mine came up due to another lab result. (I don't remember which one). I wish you the best!

Hi Karrianne,
Thanks for responding. I'm glad you got your iron and copper straightened out with the oral supplements. I just got my labs back, and though I'm taking 40mg of copper a day, my copper is even lower than my last labs. I can't find a doctor who knows how to get me copper infusions.(I had success with iron infusions). I'm really not sure what I'm going to do at this point. I'm hoping one of my doctors will be able to send me to a specialist. Blessings, Raphaela

Hi everyone. I had my DS in 2004. I weighed 312 at the time and now stay between 150 and 170. I am having trouble absorbing copper. This is a big problem because I have osteoporosis. Has anyone else had trouble with copper absorption? I would appreciate any help!

I'm an old timer who pops in once in a while. Had my DS in 2004. I've kept off most of my weight except for about 20 pounds since my thyroid has gone out of whack. Considering that I lost 175lbs though, that's not too bad. I have the same issues with taste and smell, but I do notice they are worse now that I'm getting older-62. I think a lot has to do with that.
