Topic: How to stay motivated
Good Morning Ladies,
The past couple weeks I've been so busy with finishing up my classes, cramming for my License exam and entertaining my Hubby, Son, Daughter, Son in Law & Grandson (2.5 and the love of my life) all in my little 3 bedroom condo. I have had little time for my friend and I know I prod her a lot to get up and move, even for a bit. Since I've been super busy, she hasn't walked or exercised.
I would appreciate a few suggestions on how to encourage her to push herself to be more active, even if I am not available.
Thanks so much,
Shauna

Awww Pam, I am so sorry you are getting hit again with the snow, I know my kids and hubby are as well in Pennsylvania. I wish I could ship the sunshine and warmth up to you from Orlando, I know it would make you feel good to bask in the warm morning air. My girlfriend use to live in PA as well and is so happy to be down here in FL as she just couldn't take the cold any longer.
I also have a hard time taking pills and will try the pudding idea, I don't know how well that will go as I don't really like pudding (it's a texture thing).
Hugs back

We're finally getting a taste of spring here and it's much needed, so tired of cold weather. Between the fibro and my arthritis winter is just palin evil. Of course I don't like it too hot either.
Picky, picky!

Topic: Check In and caltrate petites

Hello all my fibro sisters. Well here in Maine we are suppose to get 8 inches of snow tonight. The way my body feels we will get it.
Any one tried the new caltrate petites?? They are about 1/2 the regular size. With my pudding and the petites I am in pill heaven.
I always hated to swallow the calcicum and my vicoden. What a differnce with the pudding though.
I hope you are all doing ok......
gentle hugs....
Pam

Topic: RE: Fibro meds and weight gain?
Absolutely trial and error as Hislady mentioned. I did gain weight with Lyrica, plus it didn't help with any symptoms. I'm trying Cymbalta now, but it's too soon to tell although it's looking good (as far as not gaining weight).
Hope you find something that works for you.

Unfortunately it's kinda trial and error because what causes it for one person doesn't necesarily cause it for another person. That was helpful huh?
I had the problem with Lyrica and I "think" several others have that post here. Right now I'm on cymbalta and don't have trouble with weight gain but do have terrible dry mouth which has been causing extra cavities in my mouth so there are pros and cons with everything. Good luck hope you find something to work for ypu!

Topic: Fibro meds and weight gain?
Which of the new fibro meds available do NOT cause weight gain? I've put off seeing my doctor because I'm working too hard to keep this weight off, but the pain some evenings is keeping me from getting a good night's sleep, starting a viscious cycle.
Thanks,
BJ
Topic: RE: New to fibro
Hi Nikki!
Congrats on the fabulous loss of weight! I'm impressed.
I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have had fibro for 12 years. I tried cymbalta and it just made me constipated. The doctor gave me a funny look when I told her, like no one has ever had that side effect before! So.....it might have something to do with the Cymbalta or not. Just because it's not a listed side effect doesn't mean it's not real. By now you have probably worked this all out. I just wanted you to know there are other fibro people out here. Most of us struggle greatly with fatigue as well, so just writing on a forum is sometimes daunting, energy wise! The one thing I do worry about is that the meds I take might keep me from losing as well as I'd like. They actually slow down your metabolism, as well as making you hungry. On top of that, who has energy to exercise. It will be a HUGE struggle, but I have to do something now. Jumping through insurance hoops for the next few months, then surgery in September. Wondering if RNY or sleeve is better for a fibro sufferer. I worry that if I "dump", it will trigger my fibro pain, and timed release meds don't work right in RNY folks. Lots to think about. I hope you are doing well.
Gentle Hugs,
Beth
