Topic: Do I have fibro?
Hi all,
I'm wondering if I may have fibro. When I was 28, I was diagnosed with depression. I definitely have depression. But it is so well controlled now, has been for years. I am happy and have a great life - everything I ever wanted. But the fatigue never left. It comes and goes but is here more often than not. I am going through a large time span of fatigue right now and I just think it's not depression related. I'm also stiff a lot, I have knee pain, sometimes shoulder and back pain. My neckand shoulders are so stiff right now.
I don't quite understand trigger points - would I be really aware where they are, or is that something you figure out with the doctor. I do know that sometimes when my kids come up and pretend to spank me on the bottom and hit the lower back, it hurts a lot more than I think it should. I am stiff and sore all the time. I have a hard time falling asleep at night, but want to sleep all day - I've slept all day and night long before. Sometimes if I stay in bed a few days and sleep I feel better. usually I wake up feeling exhausted. I have headaches quite frequently.
Any thoughts? If I need to see a doctor, what type do I see?
Thanks!

Topic: RE: What are you doing for the Weekend?
What an awesome friend you are, that massage is gonna help her feel soooo good! We have a little snow but it's really cold, like 19 degrees this AM so I'm gonna enjoy looking at the winter wonderland and work on some knitting projects. You two enjoy your girl's day!

What plans do you have for the weekend?
CB has been really good about working out, even with her fibro. When she has a flare up, she can't do as much, so this weekend, I have made appointments for her and I at a day spa we are getting the whole treatment including hot stone massage.
How about it ladies, are you treating yourself good this weekend?

Thanks Sandra,
I guess I didn't explain myself very well. A couple of ladies mentioned on your "intro" thread that I was a good friend. I just wanted to tell everyone about her, but not thread jack your post. She isn't very tech savvy, and doesn't feel comfortable on message boards, while I on the other hand, visit several and post. She just signed up for facebook and is so happy she can keep in touch with her family.
My friend is very well grounded. Her & Hubby do a lot of things together. I was just venting a bit. I am sure the new changes CB is going through, the less comfortable he is. When my Sugar Daddy (dear hubby) isn't in Northern California for work, we all get together and BBQ, CB and I are in a Bible Study on Wed morns and they both lead the youth group at the Church (he for the boys, she for the girls) . She is just starting to be full of energy again! Today is bothering her though, her legs are swelling and she's in some serious pain. I told her to rest and we would meet up tomorrow.
I hope you ladies find some relief from the pain today and don't forget to do something nice for yourself today. Get a pedi, mani, facial, massage. I'm going to the Coach Outlet and getting briefcase or something like that to hold my marketing tools.
Ya'll take care,
Shauna

Dear Shauna, your friend is encouraged by your help; otherwise she would be kind enough to say otherwise. It's unfortunate that her husband see's you as a threat. Your friend is no doubt feeling better about herself as she progresses to lose weight and is happier and smiling more. It's only natural! I would suggest that maybe you could involve her husband in some small way or even just offer to join the both of you in an excersise or walk. She could maybe explain to her husband that if she feels better about herself; then everyone benifits- including him! Laughter and smiling is the best medicine for anyone and we need to do it more! If their relationship is strong; he should not feel like he is losing her; but getting her back! Your friend should also make sure she puts aside a little quality time for her and her husband. I myself have to do this; as we are so wrapped up in our own pain that we tend to forget about the ones around us. Another suggestion is maybe cook that special dinner or leave sweet letters around the house or in his lunch or coat pockets! I figure it never hurts to remind the one's we love that we still care. This is only my opinion and maybe she has already. I wish you well with you and your friend and take care,
Sandra
