Haven't tried the savella, I use cymbalta and so far it's working for me. I'm sure eventually I'll have to change meds once I build up a tolerance. Hopefully someone will chime in that does take savella, in the mean time welcome!

Topic: Savella Question
I have been reading a lot on Savella for figromyalgia and there are definitely pros and cons.  Seems like almost every has the same side effects, just different severities.  Has anyone here take it?

I currently take Lyrica and have been able to manage my pain enough to work but that's about it.  I am still so fatigued and the brain fog is so depressing plus I've gained 50 lbs.  I am working on getting approved for gastric bypass but I think with the severe depression from the fibro and meds is going to cause that to move slower that I anticipated.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

I tried Lyrica and Cymbalta for fibromyalgia.   I gained weight on Lyrica and had the dry heaves on Cymbalta.  Celebrex works well for me.  I recently went off of Celebrex to see if I could go without it.  In 3 days I was in horrible pain.

It is a perspnal issue as our bodies are all different.  I would work very closely with my Dr.

Good Luck to you!

Thank you :)

Yes, 2 1/2 years ago now.

I just want to be armed and that link that is posted above really helps, I'm taking it with me to the Doc.  :)

Yes, I take vicodin now and am becoming dependent on it and I don't like that.  Just wondering what other options there are, but I suppose he can fill me in on it.

Thanks :)

Hi Crysti, ( love the way your name is spelled)

Have you already had the surgery???
I was told no ibuprofen and I think Aleive has that.
I was on arthritis pills before and can't take them.,now. I just have to take vicoden for pain.Good luck.

Topic: 1st visit to Rheumatologist/Fibromyalgia
On Wednesday.

I want to see if my meds can be switched up, but can't recall what I'm NOT supposed to take.  I think one was Advil.... how about Alieve?

Does anyone have any question suggestions for the doctor, in regards to having this surgery and Fibro?

I'm really scared he is going to take away my medications, as they are the only way I can function and not to mention I am dependant on them.  SO, I DO want off them but am looking for alternatives, if anyone has Fibro, I"d love to hear from you.

I'm going to x-post on Roux board too.

Hope everyone is well!

They have several plans and ways to treat.  Look up I think the eval is free and you can take it from there what you can do.  Your insurance co may reimburse you at least some but most do not reconise the treatment so do not.  There has been cases where the client got them to pay due to the decrease number of ER visits for uncontroled pain and other MD visits.  Your insurance company will cover perscription and lab draws.  The best way is to call and talk to the office in person.  I chose the high cost plan for what I need it covers office visits, IV infusion, my shots I give myself and all my supplements for a year.  You would not have to do it all, I did because life was becomming hard to continue in the shap I was.  I figured if I did not do somthing I would be bed ridden or gone soon.   Talk to them see what they can do for cost and treatment for you.  I am so glad I did and many other people are too.

I see there is a center about 50 miles from me! Do mind me asking how expensive it is, as I see they don't deal with the insurance companies. We are retired so extra cash is limited.
