Topic: Sleep mask
I have read about the sleep mask helping . But I never expected it to. I got one for my daughter and I thought well I will try one.It is amazing I slept late 2 morning now and have not been able to for years. If it helps me sleep sounder and longer (when I can) I love it.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have lots of laughter, less pain, . We are here in the hotel still from the fire.  I have been so stressed wtih the fire issues that Christmas just isnt a thought, except for it is the day our Lord was born.
Hopefully we will find a place soon and get compensated from our insurance company so we can move on.

Topic: RE: I might as well have Fibromyalgia
It is extremely hard to find a good pain management Dr. It took years for my dx and 2 years to find a dr who treats fibro. It isnt like i am able to just go to a dr and say i want some vicoden and get it. I am sorry you had a botched ps. But believe me you don't want fibro.

Topic: RE: anti-inflammatory question
we cant take anti inflammotories your correct. Savella is approved by the fda to treat fibro and only fibro. There are many others that you can take also. I have severe arthritis also and i do suffer because i cant take the anti inflammatories. I am on neurotin, flexaril, tramadol, savella and methadone (for pain only not drug use). Many cause weight gain. it is a toss up really. I am not back up to what i weighed pre op but i have gained ALOT and am not happy.

Topic: RE: weight gain and fibro
goodness yes i know what your talking about.  I thought it was only me going thru this. I havent been on here in a few years. I am 8 years post op. Once my Neurotin was increased this last time, and my savela was added my weight was coming on strong.  During this time i had 22 teeth removed for dentures..btw keep your vitamin d up, this is why all my teeth broke at the gum and had to be removed.
So back to what i was saying.  My diet hadnt changed much at all.  I am a frozen grape junkie. i keep my sweets way down, I am so scared that i will gain more.  14 months post op i had my ps, in the end i was 108lbs and size 0. Very ill. i had to gain.  i did.
Recently we had a fire, and lost everything.  i had to go buy clothes.  Do you know what it feels like to have to get into a size 14/16 again! I am freaking out.  seriously freaking out

I am getting there to de stress. This year my 15 yr old and my 7 year old grand-daughter decorated the tree and the fire place mantle. I silently looked and thought well I would have done this or that I stopped and said BUT the kids did it and I didn't have to!!!! Just enjoyed it the way it was :0)

I asked about this in a post not to long ago. My friend is scheduled for surgery but also suffers from fibro. I do need to lose about 20 lbs, I don't have fibro (I thank God for that). My life is so uncomplicated, I have time to support my friend in her jouney.

I told her about this site, for her to gain encouragement for her WLS and also her Fibro. You ladies are such a treasure!

Pam is so right surgery will not help fibro, it might help arthritis but it will help in general just to get the weight off. So do have your surgery of choice but don't expect it to fix your fibro.
