Topic: RE: Feet hurt so bad.......
I have custom made richie braces I wear every day with out I would be unable to walk by now as my arches fell and I now walk on my ankles. Wish I had been sent to the pediotrist the first time instead of an orthropedic surgen I could have improved my quality of life sooner and may still be able to work.

I had hot knife like and burningf pain in my feet, legs and arms. I was put on nuerotin at fist then switched to lyrica now being tapered down on lyrica due to the weight gain issues related to it. On the lower dose I have occaisional break threws, really paniced when he told me he was origionaly taking me off because when it hits there is nothing I can do but cry it can get so bad. He relented and put me on a low dose. That type of pain is a nerve pain most pain meds do not help it. Glad the lido patches help for you.

remember that normal weight people have fibro also it is not just a diesase or the obese. I was reminded of that when I when to my Fibro specialist and saw noral sized women ther for treatment. Then problem is we can not move enough to burn the calories off so gain weight for that reason. I was first diagnosed at 160# 15+ years ago now I struggle at 292 today. Worried about all the meds I am on when I do have my surgery some are bigger than the out let will be. I will finally get to make my appointment with my surgen after my visit #6 to discuss my concernsin 3 weeks.

Rember Fibro is a syndrone or a collage of symptoms. There is somthing about the effects and of fibro and the allergy s. I can not remember what the exact things are but Dr Loya did explain it to me on my first visit. I did not have as many allergies the first time I was tested as the second time. now I am allergic to many of the good foods like eggs, chicken, oats, wheat, rye, yeast, malt, tomatoes, strawberries, bananas and any thing processed with molds ( like cheeses) none of these were positive on the first round five years before the second test. But one thing was I could remember an allergen exposure for most of my asthsma hospitial visits. Turns out I went away to a place that has ****roaches, cottonmood trees ect. I also carry an epi pen for bee allergys and take 50 of benedrl each time I get a flu shot. I have encased my mattress with a allergen protector mattress pad as well as my pillows for the dust and dust mite allergys.
I hope you see your dreem of being a doctor and that you concider a fibromyalgia specialty. It involves rhumoto;ogy, endocrinolgy just for a few. We could use a deciated MD.

I have low spine issues also, do not think it was the cause of my fibro but fibro is a syndrome so many things contribute to it. I hope you find a doctor that beleives in you so you can get help. I found a fibromyalgia and fatige center and it is nice that I found somthing that works for me. The best part is she explains hy things work ( or don't) in my body because she really knows about it. I am walking with out my came most days now and the "bad" days are better.
Topic: RE: interstitial cystitis?
My mom had it so I'm a little aware of it, altho she had neuropathy in her lower body so didn't suffer from as much pain as you probably do. I know it was a royal pain in the arse to deal with because they always wanted to treat her for a bladder infection and the antibiotics always gave her diarreha so then she was even more miserable. I think there are drugs to treat it but as far as I know it's not really curable just treatable. Wish you good luck and maybe some of the others here will have more info for you.

I didn't go into WLS expecting it to help so I wasn't disappointed when it didn't. No help at all excpet there is less fat to drag around on my body, but I am still in pain 24/7.
Sorry.
Topic: RE: My dr's all said thry just plain give up
I am so sorry you are having these issues with your pain, as one who suffers 24/7 I feel for you. I wear a phentenal patch 100mgs. It's strong, but it works. Idon't like needing this patch, but I am grateful it's available because I need it.

Here I am talking to myself. lol I asked my doc about using this for fibro and he said it doesn't cover enough of the body to use for us, so back to the drawing board!

Interestingly enough, my allergy testing was all NEGATIVE, except for Kentucky Bluegrass and cedar pollen. It was done in Texas where there are different allergens, so I may need to get tested here in CO too. However, this started in 2003 when I lived in California. I do have a theory of my own.
Mast cells are what cause allergic reaction and hives/itching when they are released into the body. Mast cells are also classified (which I learned in my Anatomy & Physiology class this semester) as CONNECTIVE TISSUE. What is fibromyalgia? It is a connective tissue disorder. Alas, it seems my mast cells are affected by fibromyalgia. BUT, this is just a theory. I'm not a doctor...yet (working on it, lol). Maybe I'm crazy, I dunno. But from an anatomical/physiological standpoint, it makes sense to me.
