Pam,
Your not feeling sorry for yourself.....you just have fibro. I just had an MRI done of my hips to see whats going on there. We need to talk about this---good and bad. Lets try and use the board more then we have in the past.

Gentle hugs

Yes we should be on the board more. A chat would be nice with just us fibro people. I am in constant pain too. I hurt so bad. I volunteer as part of the foster grandparent program and  work at the alternative high school. I work 4 days a week, 8:00- 2:00 and I ome home ready to go to bed for the night I am so exhausted and hurt so bad. Every morning I get up i wonder if it will be my last as one of these days I will just say I hurt tooo bad to go in. My arthritis is also bad. I have 2 total knees and 1 total  shoulder replacement just this April. My MD said one time I do not know why all your joints are attacked.. Where the arthritis is not the fibro is...
Sorry I feel sorry for my self today.....

I hear ya!!! My only suggestion would be see if you can go to a different med, sometimes we have to change things up to get relief again. Otherwise it sounds like you're doing all the right things. I love my electric blanket at night it warms me all over. Oh you might try something like Icy Hot, it helps me when things are worse than usual. Good luck and hang in there at least we know the weather will change eventually!!!!

I vote that you find another MD !  My daughter is a full time student and her income qualities for public assistance and know the trouble finding professional care is.  Many Doctors do not understand fibro and some think it is seeking because of it.
Have you seen a Rhumatology Doctor yet?  I found the person there that beleived me and started to treat me correctly.  I Started a privite pay fibromyalgia/ fatuge clinic last month it has made a difference- but it is privite pay.  I do two IM's a week and take a multitude of vitimins , herbs,as well as being treated for many co-dependant thingswith scrips like virial load, fungul infections in skin folds, a elevated anti T3 , low iron, low Vit D and more to come next week when more blood work comes back.
Try long hot showers for comfort ( stay in as long as you can)  the warmth gets into your muscles and helps.  I found that the breathing and relaxation excersizes that I took for childbirth also helped with the fibro pain.  For you oral pain treatment is the answer but you can try a teaspoon of salt disolved in warm water and do rinses this as a trick from a navy man I got several years ago.  It may help alittle.  Get on that waiting list as if another opens up you can cancel.  You may get a list from theSS office of oral surgens that take Medicaide.  My daughter has to travel45 minutes to an hour to see her dentist.
Good Luck to you!

Do you have anything that is equivalent to our FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)?  Are you seeing a Rheumatologist for your Fibromyalgia?

I am still working but reading your post about your bad night and morning, I can totally relate to you. There are just some days that you just can't make it in. I know I have to force myself to go in and suffer throughout the day. I can't afford not to work either. Have you asked your employer to see if they can give you a modified schedule? Or is there a way you can work from home on certain days?

I wish you all the luck and know you aren't alone out here!

There is a low pressure system moving through this area and OMG, the past couple of days have been torture!! I'm so utterly frustated with my Fibro. I had to call in sick to work yesterday (thank goodness for FMLA). I try real hard not to use my sick time. I try reallllly hard to not let this illness get the best of me but unfortunately it is this week. I had an extra hard time doing my hair this morning/getting dressed was a chore/driving hurt my hands/getting out of the car made me feel like I was 80/people touching me on my back/shouler area sent me to the moon today. I've been in such agony with this set of flare ups I just don't know what to do or try??!! The change in weather just really sets things off and for sure we are about 10 degrees cooler today. I am at the max doseage for my medication. I take hot hot baths. I relax as much as I can when I am home. When I go to bed, I have to heat up two bed buddies all night long to try and make myself comfortable but it just really sucks when you can't sleep. If anyone has any suggestions that has helped them, I'd love to hear about it!!
Thanks!!!!

Hey HL

I'm he same way...no flairs, constant pain. I try to take very little meds because I'm like a zombie if I do. Let me know how the spinal stimulator works if you end up with it. Most of my pain is in my hips and neck area. I just want one day Pain free. good luck and let us know.

Gentle hugs
