Miss Kitty, thanks so much for your reply.  It helps to talk to others who understand.  I am so sorry you are having more trouble after losing weight.  When you are overweight the doctors blame everything on our weight. It's so frustrating!  I understand about the exercise too.  It's hard to exercise when you hurt all over.  I am a Christian and I do pray for relief often.  It does help.  Thanks so much for your prayers.  I will be praying for you too.  We just have to concentrate on our blessings.
Thanks again, Marsha

I also understand how you feel. Allot of my doctors tell me my pain is due to my weight. I used to be about 420lbs. I am now about 300. I lost allot of it due to being sick, and just recently had a panniculectomy to cut 20lbs off of my belly because it hanged so much.  When I was 420 lbs, I was not in allot of pain. I laughed. I went out more. I actually had a life!  Now, here I am allot thinner, and I feel lousy!  And for the doc's to blame it on my weight??!!!!! I was feeling better at 420 than I am at 300!    Andyou are also right about doc's not understanding pain!  My PCP won't prescribe narcotics, and I am allergic to allot of pain meds.  "Lose weight." is what they always say. Well, that's not something I can do within the next week or so, and I am in pain NOW.  So how can you help me NOW so I can feel better to excersize more to lose weight?  Doc's just don't understand!  I agree with you whole heartedly!

Have you tried praying when you are in pain? I find that often helps me.  I hope you find some relief soon. I will pray for you, too, ok?

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Thanks for replying.  I don't push with my pcp.  I get it done, then let the pcp know what's up.  History has proven to me that a patient reference beats credentials alone with a potentially difficult diagnosis like one of exclusion.

I deal with pcp's for a periodic physical, routine stuff, and copying them on specialist's files.  Also, I don't see any "expert" without references based on patient experience.  I've wasted time and money with the "best" of them.

This strategy has served me well for multiple specialties.   No more wasted time, money, and energy.  I bypass pcp's and their opinions or specialists with practices that do not see my particular illnesses/ symptoms in any volume.

I have access to a lot of facilities.  I'm searching for the right one.  Thanks again.

That's about exactly what it feels like is old diet pills. Going to ease myself into taking them anyway. They gave me 2 intro packs so am going to start out just taking once a day. See how that works out.
Does Cymbalta help you? Sometimes I think the dr uses Fibro for me as an excuse to have me as his own personal guinea pig. I hate taking meds, especially ones that interfere with my normal body chemistry. Like zoloft, wellbutrin, effexor, and now savella to name a few. Pam

Check with your doc, but I had the same reaction to cymbalta. It felt like I was using "speed" for the first week or so! My doc said it was unusual because it makes most folks sleepy.Maybe you're just an odd ball like me.

There really should be some place much closer to get a diagnosis. Are there any teaching centers or colleges near you that teach medical students. Any hospital in a large city should be able to direct you to a rheumatologist or paincenter where you can get a firm diagnosis. They can do a trigger point test to make a determination. You need to really push with your PCP to refer you to a practitioner who can make a final diagnosis. Best of luck!

I just started my intro pack of Savella yesterday. I'm climbing the walls! I feel like my heart is pounding in my ears. Not sure if I should take anymore of it,
Anyone know if this is just initial reaction?

I desperately need a diagnosis.  I've been experiencing "wait and see" for over fiffteen years.  At this point I'm willing to travel anywhere in CT;  or, in FL N of Gainesvill from Jacksonville to Tallahasse.  As long as the rheumatologist is experienced diagnosing fibromyalgia.  Often times generalists can be worthless for an initial fibro diagnosis.  Thanks.

Hi,
You really are still very new postop and I would not be a bit surprised to find that you are still recovering.
It takes a month to recover from each hour you are under general anesthesia.
Also, having fibro takes alot of of a person under the best of cir****tances.
Are you having b-12 injections monthly?  You should be having a IM b-12 shot every single month for the rest of your life.  I give myself a shot in the thigh on the aniversery of my surgery date (the 18th) so it's fairly easy to remember.
Your doc is right, give it a good month or two and see if more energy returns.
In the meantime, keep hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day.  Protein shakes in between meals helps.
Protein first...
The cymbalta and lyrica also tend to tire one out.  With the malabsorbtion you are going to have it hit you faster and longer.
I bet you will see your energy returning soon.
Also, keep up on your labs...make sure you are not anemic.
