I had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago and had to keep my incision site clean and dry. I got thin maxi pads, peeled off the sticky strip, folded the pad in half length-wise and stuck it under my belly flap! It worked wonderfully!
Maybe give this a try. Let me know if it does.
Best wishes ~ Gracie

Sciatic pain is miserable and the cymbalta probably won't do much for it. It's gonna take some strong pain meds to get relief. You may even need to investigate a pain clinic. I got some relief with a chiroprator until I was able to get into the pain clinic. Best wishes to you and hope you are able to get some relief soon!

Sounds like a yeast infection and may need a prescription to clear it up. My mom had this problem and one of her nurses suggested cutting 4-6" wide strips from an old cotton t-shirt and lay them on the effected skin to help keep the area dry. Then they can just be swapped out with fresh ones when damp.

No JOKE! The popping and grinding is awful! I have many days where I wish I were a Barbie or a robot or something and could just have "bad" parts taken off and swapped out. Ugh... Have you looked into massage, accupressure (or puncture) for some relief? I would DIE without those. It doesnt fix it, but it helps manage for a bit- and its good for our souls and helps US cope and relax- oh so very important. Sometimes, you can even get insurance to cover all or some of it!

You can also try an antifungal cream- something on the mild side though. It will help fend off bacteria and yeast in those areas. Rub in well and then apply powder over it to help keep the area dry. This has helped me with my "hangy" areas...
I also will excuse myself to the restroom if I get warm and perspire to cleanse the area. I keep some unscented baby wipes with aloe in my purse at all times, so I can just pop in and quickly cleanse if I need to. This has helped a great deal.
Hope this can be helpful to you as well.

Topic: The pain...
Is SO bad right now :( The past 3 days, my sciatic has been acting up. Im so weak, and the pain is just awful- I havent been able to do anything. Nothing is giving me relief. Ive taken 1 Lortab and 2 Fioricet (these are supposed to be my migraine meds) today, I smell like a damn gum factory with all the Icy Hot Ive slathered on, Ive been sitting on a moist heat pad, and nothing. My hips feel broken. I really dont think the Cymbalta is gonna do it for me- my Dr upped my dosage to 60mg a few days ago, and I know it takes weeks for full effect- but still! Im getting really *****y, impatient, unhappy and testy from the pain. UGH! I HATE this disease!
Topic: RE: So much FM with RNY? Why, why, why??
I was told that losing weight quickly can cause the spine (which is often stressed by a large belly) snaps back once belly is gone. This can cause nerve damage and inflame FM symptoms.

Dear Suzette-
I haven't had surgery yet, but, I am a nurse.
Clean the areas of breakdown very well with a mild soap. Dry well. You might have to do this several times a day.
Sometimes applying deodorant to the area will help. There are also some antibiotic powders that are helpful. They do require a prescription, though.
As you know, we have very sensitive skin. Look for powders without a scent. You may become allergic to powders and soap.
Good luck and hang in there. You are doing a really important thing.

Topic: RE: Guessing my fibro sisters are feeling....
I would love to do volunteer work but the pain and fatigue in the winter keeps me mostly house bound. Just going to the grocery store is almost more than I can bear.
