I had my VSG a year ago. I have lost 90lbs. I agree with everything above. I also just tried on 7 shorts and did a few other things. I ache all over, mostly in my arms. Now I need a rest period. I find the daily rest period where I practice deep breathing and muscle relaxation to be very important

Yes it does but not a lot, it has a bit less than a cup of coffee the same size. I drink the sugar free type so it may be different than the regular one. I only drink one a day so that's only equal to one cup of coffee.

I worried about this before my surgery. It has not been an issue, BUT, I'm careful to take advantage of this 12-18 month "honeymoon" period so when the losing slows down later AND I'm not exercising, I'm at a good weight.  Exercise is all relative now anyway.  Just ordinary daily activities are as difficult as any workout in a gym anyway  .  Went to Goodwill to try on a few things since I've lost 40lbs and don't want to buy anything much yet. I have not actually gone to a store and tried anything on for years, even shoes. Online is a godsend for us fibro folks! Anyway, after trying on shirts for about 20 minutes, my arms hurt so bad it just about killed me for two days after. That was exercise.  Seriously, though, I may be losing lbs a bit slower than I would if I really exercised like a maniac, but I tell myself it's better to lose slower anyway. Maybe my gallbladder will behave! We do what we can with what we're given, and some days it's precious little...energy that is. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all!.  Beth

OK this is just something I noticed after I started drinking Red Bull for some energy, but my muscles aren't as sore when just a week ago they were horrible! It has lots of B vitamins and amino acids which are both good for the muscles so I'm guessing that is why it helps but I'm sticking with my Red Bull from now on. You do have to be careful with it because it has some anti coagulant properties to it so if you take warfarin ask your doc first.

Not only is he stupid he's a liar about getting life insurance after WLS. Usually you have to wait 5 years and be succcessfulk with the weight loss before they let you get life insurance again. Since he was wrong about everything else it's not surprising!
