I would love to be your penpal and be there for each other at least online.
I am just starting the weight loss procedure and went to my first seminar about it.
Its very overwhelming all the information. My bmi is very high too at (61) and I know i need to do this even though it is scary as I've never had surgery before.
I hope I get approved even though I am pretty healthly except for me being overweight and I have bad knees to the point where I can't walk without pain.
My doctor says I need knee replacement surgery but need to lose weigth first.

hi sandie, i am a new member and just read your post. i am sheryl in houston, tx. i had my surgery one week/one day ago on Friday, November 4th. i am at home now healing and working at adjusting to my new lifestyle. i am very iffy about everything, including if i am eating/drinking enough, whether i am getting enough protein & fluids to stay hydrated, and on and on. i actually feel good, except for the minor soreness/tenderness to my right side. before i go on too much, i would love to be pen pals. let me know if you are still in search. let me share that i do not get on-line daily. of course, i will be able to be on a lot more than normal since i am not working for the next few weeks. i pen pal snail mail style with lots of wonderful friends--for about 15 years now. it will be nice to have a friend who totally relates to what i am now going through. hope your saturday is going great. Since i had my surgery, I have lost 180 pounds and now am living a completely new life. The life that I have always dreamed about. I honestly believe that the surgery has saved my life and it will also save yours since im sure that you currently have some health issues due to the extra weight that we are all carrying. I would love to be your pen pal... the support that i recieved before and around the time that i had my surgery got me thru the recovery and also helped me when i had questions about our new life.
