 Well hello from A****er, CA., I  have not had the surgery yet, just in the first stages of the prodcider, it is scary, if you have went in and looked at all the pro's and con't of the surgery, it can be very scary, but will have to say its still worth it.
My name is Melody and i'm wanting the RNY surgery done, went to the Seminar of this back in January of this year, but this was my second go around, took me 7 yrs to make up my mind to finely do this, plus the weight got to high and i was worried about problems,  I have bad knees, which slow me down alot and I get
foot fractures, so its time to get off the stick and do something.
All i can say is trust your doctor and his Nurses, and read all you can on the surgery, and be strong and believing in our Lord helps alot also.  Sorry, never told you my age, I'm 59 yrs. old I"ve been married 3 times, and living in a elder community in A****er, Ca., nice here, farm country.  I've had cancer in 2009, had to have a full Hysterectomy, and they seem to have gotton everything, so I go in and have a PAP every 3 months, for the next 5 yrs.  I'm a retired Nurse and just living a quiet life now, and I dont have alot of health issues, my heart is great and no
other problems but carrying tomuch poundage on this body of mine.  My height is 5'6 and I have 300 +  so thats not healthy
either.  So I will be  a penpal to you if you would like, and we can walk a step at a time on our Journey through the gastric-bypass, and come out into the sunlight in new bodies, which will be great.
As I said, just started this Journey, just seen a Dietatian on the 9th, and i'm on Protein powder twice aday and 1 low-cal meal, until I get called for my Consultation appt. from the Patrick Coates M.D. , its just a slow process.  The best to you on your up coming surgery, all will be great, just listen to your doctor and do what you are told to the T, and you will be fine.

I'm kind of new here and didn't find this part until just now.  What kind of revision are you having?  I'd love to talk and share with others too.  I'm having a revision April 21 hopefully from a sleeve to the RNY.    Joanne

I am Carol -- I had RNY in Sept 09 and have lost 130 lbs and still have some to go. Now that the weightloss has slowed down I need as much support as I can get and if one thing I have learned always still with the basics which is what I am trying to get back to starting with support it is so important.  I wish you much success: life changes so much: I did not realize how many things I was missing until I walked across a field without stopping and getting out of breath: I looked back and all of a sudden thought "Life is so good-and the surgery was a success even if I have not reached my goal".
