I am looking for a friend to go through the surgery with also.....I have a follow up with my surgeon on the 25th of February and they will decide then when to schedule my surgery and I'm kind of freqking out. Hi all :)
I come here looking for fellow minds who endure living in a flesh casing that has made them miserable. I'd love to talk about what steps you've taken to get to where you are, if you're just starting out like me, (although I went this route in the past only to chicken out at the last minute thinking I can do this on my own!) Wrong.
I live in New Jersey and have Horizon NJ Health insurance. I am in the process of meeting doctors who accept this plan, but if you have one to refer I am all ears. I'm scared to death to go under the knife for something I should be able to get ahold of on my own, but alas, I wouldn't be here if I could.
Talking about this with people who have gone through it seems to help my troubled thoughts. So come tell me yours.

My name is Bernice!! Im 21 years old and im a full time college student pursuing a career in Social work! Im still in the preop stages, and ive done everything so far except the psych eval, pulmonary function test, letter of med necessity, and the ins required 6 months of nut visits, in feb i will be on month 2!! I will be getting the sleeve and im hoping for a surg date of at least end of june beginning of july so i can have recovered enough to go back to school

Hi Kari. My name is Chenita and I am looking for some encouragement too. I started my PreOp on December 21st. I have accomplished alot but still have a ways to go. So I need as many email buddies as I can get. A little about me... I am 30 years old. Single with no kids, currently in school to persue a nursing degree. I have been researching the WL thing for about 4 years. I had planned on doing the Gastric Bypass but found out that with having the sleeve, I wouldn't have to take as many meds for the rest of my life.
I am going this for me. At first I felt as if I needed this for my parents to be happy, but I need to love myself more and make sure that I will be able to live with my new change. I have PCOS so by losing weight, there maybe a chance that I will be blessed one day with children, but not before I have a mate.

I am doing well... I had my surgery Monday, all went well I had my folly out this morning & my awesome Dr put me on stage 1 of the diet :) Jello, clear liquids, broths :) I was soo uncomfortable I had cotton mouth BAD & couldn't drink any thing ! I am okay now ... My surgery went great and I'm doing well, full of gas of course, I have 7 more holes in my abdomen but it's worth it right ?? Well I'm taking a walk down the hall to try to get this gas moving ... Have a good night everyone & thank you ALL again for your support ...
Hey Jenn, I am just starting my journey and live in what I call Hell Paso, but would like to keep in touch if you want. I am actually coming to Vegas for a family vacation in March.
