I am scheduled for a gastric bypass/long limb revision in December at the U of M. My insurance approved it within a week, suprisingly enough! Good luck & I hope you get your insurance approval.

I am new to the process as well. I meet with the surgeon for my 1:1 on October 23. I know my PCP has already sent my medical necessity form. It's going to be a long haul though.

I am new to the whole process too. I have only gotten as far as having my fanily Dr. fill out the required forms and mailing them off to whereever they go. I am in the process of researching every scrap of information I can find on g.b. surgery. I'm pretty sure I want to have it done. I have lost and gained so many times. I can get 30 to 40 lbs. off only to regain it. I just can't get down any more. I know 2 people that have had it done and they are happy that they had it done. I went to a support group on Sun. and the post surgery people were all positive about their journey. I wish you luck in making your decision.

Hello. My name is Amie and I am in Tacoma, WA. I have just started my 6 month program that is required by my insurance company. I have already met with my surgeon, I have my psych eval scheduled for October 12. I don't have to have an Upper Endoscopy because I have had one in the last 2 years. Once my 6 months is up I meet up again with the surgeon and his nutritionist then we send to get authorization from the insurance and if all goes well there I will be having surgery sometime in April. My husband is in this process too. We are looking to have our surgeries within about two weeks of each other.

Let me ask you something did you have any left side pain after surgery> 4/25/11 was my surgery 3 weeks later have had a pain Ive gonne to PCP nothing found had CT scan Ulrasound and nothing so Im going to see another dr see what the heck that pain is ... =(
