I am so angry!  I called my insurance company..UHC today and they still don't have any of my information.  Amy from Dr. Clarks office faxed papers May 19, another time the next week and another time last week.  Each time I call they give me a different fax number to give to her saying that is where she is supposed to fax it to.  I always get transferred everywhere when I call.  I talked to Amy this morning and she said she faxed everything to Michelle at UHC friday.  So I called uhc again this morning, could not talk to Michelle, but they said there are notes on my account that Michelle did not recieve the fax and has called Amy three times including today and Amy hasn't called her back!!  I don't know what to do, I dont want to make anyone mad, but this is really frustrating.  uhc said that I won't know about approval until they have my paperwork for 15 days.  If they would have gotten it the first time I might have known something by now!!  I don't know if uhc is messing up with these faxes or Amy is.  I wouldn't think Amy would, that is her job it is what she does everyday, but I don't know.  Has anyone else went through this? I feel bad for calling over and over, but if I hadn't been calling we wouldn't know they didn't recieve the fax the first time.   Sorry for venting!!

Keep on them.  You are in charge of your own issues.  Maybe they will get tired of you calling and actually give you the correct information.  Sometimes they say they didn't receive to give themselves some extra time.  Sometimes they hope that you will "give up".  DON'T.  Be persistent.  I know it is frustrating but keep calling.  Always get the full name of the person your have talked to.  E-mail as often as possible, that way you have "proof" of what you were told.  GOOD LUCK.  It is sooooooooooo worth all the frustration.

I had an issue with the faxing between offices each time along the way to approval.  Hang in there, and try to remain calm.  I know what you mean about hating to call so often, I called a LOT but I also sent emails to the girls in my surgeons office and told them how much I appriciated their time and efforts to get me approved.  I think if you let them know that they are appreciated the calling is much less bothersome... and remember you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.  I actually got an email thanking me for such kind words from the girls in my surgeons office after the paperwork finally made it to UHC.  By the way it took UHC 15 days on the nose to approve me.  I just got my letter with all the pre op stuff dates and times today so I feel like it is really going to happen now. Congratulations to you, Jeannie, for getting the "official" paperwork in the mail today. Now it is official and the exciting part is ready to roll.

I know it can be extremely frustrating but persistence is the key word here. The squeaky wheel gets the oil as the old saying goes. Be nice, they won't get as upset. Remember if you need to vent come to us and not them. Is there any way that you can get a copy of the papers and fax them yourself? Just wondering about that. The only problem with my insurance was they said that they didn't have information that they did, and the doctor's office took care of that. Sorry for the frustrating run a round but in the end it will be forgotten and your new and exciting life will have begun. Good luck to you!
