BC IS MY PRIMEARY AND MEDICARE IS MY SECOND DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM B/C THE WLS IS EXCLUDED ON THE POLICY SO I KNOW THEY WILL TURN IT DOWN BUT I HAVE CHECKED WITH MEDICARE BUT I STILL DON'T KNOW IF THEY WILL PAY I HEARD THAT THEY WILL. SO I'M STILL WAITING ON MY DR'S HOSPITAL TO BE A CENTER OF EXCELLANCE. ANY INFO PLEASE LET ME KNOW

Depends on the state your in.  Medicare is partially state funded and partially federally funded from my understanding.  Did you go to the insurance section on this website?  I don't think Alabama medicare covers this but I could be wrong.  Good luck!

I am in the exact same situation. It is so hard to get a straight answer on this. My doctor is sending my letter to my primary now and it will be denied for the same reason-written exclusion. I have heard that they will too but I called them (medicare) and they were unsure. They just reasd to me from the manual which if that is the standard it should pay. The insurance people at the University of Chicago were unsure as well when I saw them Wed,  I'm no help at all but I came here to just look for the same answer.... I hope someone knows!! Amy
