I have UHC and I am getting mixe messages. Was originally told no 6 month diet and no Psych evaluation. I was then told I needed both. My surgeon sent in documents as they were told, only consultation and 40 plus BMI. I spoke with UHC and they received documents on 12/17 and it is pending. I am praying I get the approval call.

Has anyone who is trying to get WLS through UHC had this problem?  They say 2013 plans are not loaded into the system.  I mean, we can put a Man on the Moon, but we can't load this info 10 day before a New Year?  Anyone else?  Any advice?  I have gone to HR and all they have is the Medical SPD.  They've sent me back to UHC....

Topic: Have no insurance... HELP

Hello everyone, I live in TX and I have no insurance and can't get insurance because of my weight. I don't work because I am a full time student. I have BMI around 54 (last I checked) and I am wanting to have WLS. Other than self pay are there any options out there for me? I was told I could try and get on disability but I have no clue how to go about doing that. I was also told to go to Mexico because it would be a lot cheaper and its just as safe as having it done in the US.

I am going to school to become a teacher and would love to have the surgery before I go into student teaching and residency. I don't want any of the TX school districts looking at my weight and come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to keep up with my students.

Any help or info would be great....

Billie Jean
