I had RNY through the MTF at Keesler (we have tricare prime...Dh is active duty AF)....anyway....much easier going through at MTF...if the Dr. agrees to the surgery....you get the surgery.  My starting weight was 235 (5'5) with no co-morbitites other than the occassional heart burn.....I started the process in July and had my surgery in December.

Good Luck

Rhie

Topic: RE: Ohio Molina approved
Hi! I too was approved by Molina Healthcare in less than 2 weeks! I have been trying for years with different insurance companies to have my RNY done so I was in shock when I found out I was finally approved. Jean is awesome. My surgery date is Nov. 7. I hope you are doing well! If you have any advice or words of encouragement, I'd love to hear it. Take care.

Lori,

Have you heard anything back about your appeal?  Also, I would like to take a look at the information that you have.  Could you email it to me?

Thanks!

Topic: RE: OHIP coverage
Hi, you may want to post this on the Ontario forum. I'm not going through OHIP, so I can't offer much help there.

Good luck.

Does anyone know what they require to be approved and if their is a waiting period?  I get sick all the time and have gained alot of weight back I went from a size 8 back to 16 in the last year and half.Last week I went back to my surgeon and had a scope test done  and he said my pouch was enlarged and the part connecting to my intestines was too.Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Topic: RE: BCBS Federal - Revision for Light Weight

I have same insurance but I am not a revision so I cannot answer they question :( but I just wanted to ask you one question. Have you by chance looked into the DS surgery? It is the best surgery for resolving comobidities and is has the best track record in keep the weight off. So before you go all out for the RNY, look up the DS on the forums here or on dsfacts.com

I'm a CIGNA girl myself and my revision story is nearly the same as yours. There is nothing "technically" wrong with the band so it must be my own body! No one should have to live like this!! CIGNA denied me twice and I have now appealed to the DMHC for an IMR. Don't give up. I have a 90- page document I'd be happy to share. I would like a DS so my request is geared for that.

If you give up, they win.
