There are two sizes of bands.  The VG band is the Vanguard band that holds 10cc's of fluid.  The other olds 4cc's.  It's just a size difference but they both serve the same purpose.

Hummmm so my Dr said I got the 10 cm band?  Does that mean a VG band or is there actually a 10 cm band?

You got the 4cc band.  The ccs and cms are both different measurements.  The ccs are how much liquid capacity (cubic centimeters) the band holds and the cms are how large (in centimeters) the band is physically. Lori

The VG band is larger and designed with "pillows" that inflate as the fill is added.  It both holds more liquid and is a bit wider in the body. For reference, the US band manufacturer, Inamed, makes two sizes that are routinely used by US surgeons.  I believe they are working on getting another size approved (it is used outside of the US) as well as another band manufacturer has been ir is being approved so the sizes will be a bit different. Anyway, the three sizes are: the 9.75 cm band which holds 4 cc's of saline the 10 cm band which holds 4 cc's of saline the VG band -- 11 cc -- which holds 10 cc's of saline Lori
