I'm just wondering if any of you used Dr. speigal as your Dr. I did but have not seen him since date of surgery. I go to S.A. to Turning Point for my fills. They are great, and painless. Anyway, I have a 2 inch scar and the small 5 holes they use to insert the instruments. Does anyone else have a 2 in*****ision or is that not considered laparoscopic. The surgeon never discussed this matter with me. I had my surgery in Nov. But I am just beginning to feel motivated to lose the weight. I have lost 35 pounds only. I purchased a treadmill last week and now i am exercising and eating better. I would appreciate some feedback.  Thanks

That scar is where they place the port under your abdominal muscle wall so that part was cut.  THe surgery still is considered laparoscopic.  If it was done open, you would have had a very big abdominal incision. I wish you well on starting your journey over afer taking a break.  I am glad that you have the motivation back. BEst of luck!!!

Hi!  I don't have the same doctor, but I had similar scars.  The smaller ones are from the instruments, and the longer one is where your port was inserted.  Your picture and profile do not indicate when your surgery was.  How long ago were you banded?  I am fair skinned, and my scars are no longer visible AT ALL.  I cannot find them.    I wish you the same good luck. I was banded in Oct and I am similarly scarred.  I too have only lost 40 pounds and now is the time for us to get on track and do what we were trying to accomplish!

Hi Patti, Nice to here I'm not the only slow loser. Better late than never is my motto. Let's stay in touch and encourage each other. I waited 3 months before i got a fill. That is one reason things were moving slow. I think i was afraid of what would happen when the band was tight. I feel better now that i am more familiar with the band and how it works for me. I hope to start shedding the pounds.

Hi, My port scar is 4" and I have 4 others that are 1" ea., I was really shocked to see how big my port scar was, but I have been told that this is normal. I guess  it's a small price to pay to save my life. Lyndee

my scars are very similar to yours. I have darker skin so I know it will take a long while for the scars to fade to skin tone.
