I love being able to walk out the back door and pick fresh produce from the garden.  I just picked lemon cukes, green beans and romas.  Got anything growing in your backyard? veggies1.jpg picture by Kelly_xo07

aww thank you :) what do you usually grow?  I'm short a few things this year; eggplants, beets and carrots.  But overall, have a pretty good selection of vegies and herbs<--no grocery shopping--yeah!

Well the last time we planted was about 5 years ago so we've just been growing weeds. Due to a bad back I gave it up, but my back is much better now so I'd like to start growing again, I used to grow carrots, beets, green beans, tomato and spring onion, Rosemary (it's still in there but over grown) and some bulb flowers. I had a huge problem with tomato worms (Ugly) and we grew corn one year but it had worms too. Anyway, I don't even know what to plant at this time of year, any suggestions. Thank you, Lyndee

darn squirrels...they bury walnuts in my flower beds and eat the strawberries.  You have an awesome garden!

Thanks!  Next year I am trapping the darned squirrles and relocating them . . . to the compost pile!!  Only kidding!  They are gonna go, but I will let them loose at a local park or something.  Then do make a real mess with the walnuts in the Fall too!

We have tomatoes, corn, ruhbarb, zucchini, squash, watermelons, cantelope, and a herb garden.  The only things that are ready right now are the zucchini, herbs and tomatoes.  I have been making zucchini bread the last 2 days, I can't eat it but am giving alot away.  I love the fresh herbs too, it taste so much better than the dried type.  I have always wanted to do green bean, but have never tried.  Maybe next year!
