How long did it take you to start losing weight?
Banded July 5, 2007
Starting weight-232
Current weight-222
What size band do you have and what kind of fills have you had?
The one thing that I keep telling myself to help me stay focused is that even though things move slow this time when I loose the weight it will be for good. I am 3 months out and I lost 25 pounds the first month and then 5 pounds each month after that. Are you following all the band rules. Lots of protein and no drinking with meals.
Hang in there! I'm sorry you are feeling frustrated.

I can most definetly understand your frustrations, but let me ask you and everyone else whom has posted....are you exercising at all? At least some walking? I'm loosing weight slower than most too...but I had to ask myself the same questions, and what are you eating....and how often? If you eat more than the recommended three meals even tho they are small and if they are high in calorie...then you're simply going to maintain your current weight. We must remember the band is not some miracle tool......it's something that was designed to assist with weight loss, however we still have to make many changes.....Stay encouraged and really look at what you're eating and add some walking to your schedule if you havn't already done so.

Hi, I'm 9 weeks out this week and belive me I know your frustration, I lost 171/2 lbs. pre-surgery and since then have lost 16 lbs., however that weight was lost in the first 4 weeks after surgery, and I have stalled out, have not lost anything in 5 weeks. I have not had a fill yet and won't get one untill mid September, so I'm just doing diet, I't is so frustrating that I went through major surgery to lose weight and here I am struggling to lose a pound, honestly, when I dieted before surgery I would at least lose weight consistently and not just stop like this. I keep telling myself it will get better and that maybe my body is in some sort of shock from surgery, but then I read post after post from people with the same problem, I don't know what the answer is, but I just have to continue to have faith that it will work. I'm sorry if I am a downer, but when I read your post it was everything I've been feeling for weeks. We are in the same boat and from the posts I read on this board so are alot of other people. Best of luck, Lyndee
I haven't had surgery yet but have simply resigned myself to not losing at all until restriction arrives. If that is six months out then so be it! The way I think about it is I've been heavy for 28 years (ok probably wasn't overweight for the first 3 or 4
) whats another six months? I mean, of course I want to start losing right away but hopefully I will have fifty skinny years, and the few months of frustration will end up being meaningless!
