One week post op and involved in bad traffic accident today
I probably should've listened to my DR when he told me to take 2 weeks off work...but NO...me being the devoted employee that I am convinced the DR to release me today. So I went back to work feeling really good all things considered....UNTIL. I was stopped at a traffic light about Noon today and a 18-wheeler decides to plow into the back of my vehicle. He hit me so hard that he launched me into the 3 other vehicles in line in front of me. Luckily no was hurt to seriously. I was on my way to see my DR for my one week check-up and have my staples taken out. I made my appointment(about an hour and half late). Had him check me out and everything was OK with my belly. One small miracle in the whole ordeal was the vehicle infront of me had a young mother and 2 twin toddler boys in it ( small Ford Explorer). I did plow into the back of their vehicle and i'm sure it's totalled, but, my truck absorbed most of the impact from the 18-wheeler. I would like to think me being in the wrong spot at the wrong time maybe saved those kids lives. I'm gonna go take some leftover Vicadin from my surgery now and get a little rest.

Forrest, thank God, EVERYONE was ok, and your stomach wasn't hurt! I'm sure you had your belt on. I think you're right, abou you cushioning the kids SUV. Also, lucky, you had a an appt with your Dr. right after! I bet you'll be sore tomorrow! Take care!!
At goal, 155 bs. Started at 290. 7 years out! WAHOO~
I'm glad you're ok and everyone else as well--the woman and her kids were blessed to have you behind them at the time. An 18-wheeler--what was this guy thinking! I've been side swiped by a dump truck before, scary accident---I couldn't drive by trucks for quite some time after that.
Get some rest, feel better!
