How can I be 5'7 and wear PETITE pants?? Anyone else?

At my heavier weights I always shopped at Lane Bryant or Avenue and thought it was just THEIR clothes, but NOPE. I wear petite pants. People keep saying I'm "short-waisted" (which I don't really know what that means.. but ok). That just seems weird to me, so wanted to see if others have the same issue. But yup, last time I went shopping at Kohl's, I had to buy all petite pants. I don't see how it's possible.. but I guess it is. What's up with that and what the heck does "short-waisted" mean?? Can anyone think of a celebrity that's short-waisted? Would that be like J.Lo? Cause people tell me I do have some booty... LOL..

I am 5.6 1/2 and I wear petite.  First I am very long torso..short legs.   Second..they are making average pants so freakin long it is ridiculous.  I don't need to be steppin on the hems of my jeans!

I dont know about short waisted but maybe you are all torso and no legs?

I'm going to have to have someone measure me.. I don't think I have short legs... at all!! But maybe it's that I'm LONG-waisted.. just longer on the top than the bottom, although the weird thing about that is that my arms are short. Sleeves are always too long on me.  IDK.. this is so confusing!

I'm 5'6"   and am LONG waisted,  short legged...and wear petites most of the time.  It SUCKS...they are hard to find and average..I trip on them.  annoying

I have the opposite problem...I feel your pain.  I'm 5'4 and wear a 32" inseam.  My ex was 6'3" and my legs were as long as his.  I will never be able to wear lo-rise pants--they show about 3 inches of crack on me.  I have a heck of a time finding pants and love warm weather when I live in capris.   I am all legs and almost no waist.   Tonya

Try being 5'2 1/2 and having petite length still being TOO LONG for you! Of course, being a 23" inseam doesn't help much. I do a LOT of hemming!

I am 5ft 4 and have always worn average with a 31 in inseam.  I just bought a pair of slacks this last week and had to buy a petite!  I remember once not so long ago ( but before I had surgery) buying a pair of slacks in petite by accident and they were so short I had to take them back.  Not anymore!   My daughter has the same problem, she's 5ft 6 but has short legs. 

I have always wore petite pants and never had to hem them but lately they are all so freaking long that I have to double check the tags to make sure it is petite. I now have to hem all my jeans whenever I buy new ones...:(
