Hey guys, I want to get my doctor something just to show him how much I appreciate him.  He is so caring and goes out of his way.  I just want to let him know he is appreciated.  Do you have any suggestions??  Thanks

I would probably go with a gift cert somewhere. Thats usually a safe bet.

I would make something with my own hands or give something from my garden. Jean

I speak at my surgeon's Weight Loss Seminars.  I have been featured on WebMD and also in his hospital's quarterly publication.  The confidence I instill in his prospective clients has been way more appreciated than a gift.  I think he appreciates me giving my time every month to speak and inspire others who are skeptical about WLS.  I point people to my OH blog and get dozens of notes from them each month. I also attend the monthly support group meetings from his office and, again, he has thanked me for being a role model, being positive and showing people you can succeed with WLS and the band specifically. I'd suggest you ask how you can help his office in a similar way as you've lost alot of weight and could be very inspirational to patients who are skeptical about the band.  Nothing is more impactful than seeing oneone who has lost alot of weight using the tool you are thinking about getting yourself.

Or even a gift basket for the office staff can be appreciated. I agree with Mick from Atlanta, there have been days that I have come in and his wife has told me that it made his day  with my lose, because he had some patients earlier that day who had back slided. Prek3

I don't know if they have them near you, but there is a place called Edible Arrangements - they make floral looking pieces out of the most delicious cut fruit - cut in shapes of flowers, and leaves. Makes a beautiful gift and keeps in with eating healthy!

I'm w/Judy on this one.  I love Edible Arrangements.....they are a bit pricey, but no more than ordering flowers.

1.  Medical offices run on their stomachs.  2)  Whatever you get him, make sure he can share it with the office--I would suggest a fruit basket or something similar.

How about a gift card to McDonalds? I know some good things on the menu!! Just kidding!! I knew my anesthesologist when I had my surgery, and I got him an iPod holder for his arm for when he is on his bike because one night when we went out to dinner before the surgery he was biking to the restaurant and dropped his iPod and a car ran over it!!. Does he ever mention any interests outside of work? Is he athletic or enjoy the outdoors. In Minnesota you can muy a membership to all the state parks that is good for the summer and you can park free and stay at all the camping grounds.
