I bought the NEW "Active" game for the Wii!

It was $60 at Wal-mart.  I do the Wii Fit religiously, and I thought this would be a fun way to add some variety.

This game seems really cool because it's supposed to be more like a "real" workout and it actually tells you how many calories you burn!  It also has an adjustable leg strap so it can monitor your lower body movement, as well as a stretchy resistance band for strength training.  You do NOT have to have the wii fit in order to use this game, because the balance board is not necessary.

Some of the games it includes are:

Cardio boxing
Bicep Curls
Inline Skating
Cardio Dancing
Volleyball
Jump Rope
Squats and Lunge

I can't wait to get home and try this out!  I'll post about my experience with it later tonight after my workout.

Ohhhh, is this the second one in the Active series?  I have the first one with the kayaking, rock climbing and such but have never palyed it on the 1 player mode.  The kids and I love to do the mine cart racing together, lol!!  I'm sure now that school is out I'll have more time to play it on 1 player and have to get the new one as well!!

We got this Tuesday when it came out and I have done it twice.  I started the 30 day challenge.  I really like it.  I haven't done Wii Fit much lately, other than the body test.  Both my husband and I love the Gold's Gym workout on Wii - it's excellent cardio.  What I like about EA Active Sports is the integration of resistence training.  I tend to get way too into cardio that I don't do any resistence, so this will be great.

Yesterday, my workout was a combo of resistence and cardio.  Today it seemed to focus more on the resistence and lunges and such.

Plus you can put your own custom workouts together that I did before my day 2 of the 30 day challenge.  It's not as intense as the Gold's Gym, but the variety is fantastic.

Good luck with it!

COOL!! Im going to try to find time to get my hands on it this weekend. Im getting tired of the fit. I really l ike the boxing...but I wish the step dance thing was faster. I do the free step and I usually hit 1200 or so steps!

Question...is the 30 day challenge consecutive days or 30 random days? Just wondering if I have to do it 7 days a week...
