gas or hunger???
And yes the gas in your stomach can feel like hunger pains. But you really need to think is it really hunger you are feeling or just plain ole head hunger ??
When I had my surgery head hunger was kicking my butt to be honest. I wasn't hungry but I felt like I needed to eat something especially at meal times or snack time. You have to learn what is the difference actual physical hunger or head hunger.
That is where alot of people get into trouble with fills. Let me rephrase that so people don't get onto me some people lol. They think they are hungry so they just eat and eat then they go get a fill when they really don't need one . You can actually sit there and obsess about food and make yourself hungry , just like people with Asthma can sit there and make themselves go into a attack my son has done it before eating and hungry you can do the same thing.
I really had to learn the last four weeks before my first fill if it was actually hunger that was going on , or head hunger or some gas left in me. After I quit obsessing about food and wanting to eat it got easier on me and I skipped my first fill on Dec 20th a month after my surgery . I can actually go 4-5 hrs sometimes six without eating when I don't sit there and obsess about food .
And far as the MOM Ipersonally would not take it if you had 2 BM's in fourteen hrs. My gosh I'm on solids now and I wish I could do that lol.
Im with SF on this one......Im two weeks out from surgery and I think Ive only gone a total of three times.....its totally normal. The only time I took anything was after four days of doing NOTHING I took something to move things along but was told that constipation was totally normal...as is diarrhea with some people. Everyone is different. But, what you are experiencing is normal.
As for the gas/hunger pains....i would bet my last dollar that its just gas pains. Youre just so use to eating so much more that you may be THINKING that youre hungry.....the dreaded head hunger. When I have those moments, I try to drink a hot tea or maybe even some hot broth....it keeps your mouth busy and makes you feel like youre having something at least.
Its not easy the first few weeks because youre so limited to what you can have, but I just tried to keep in mind that it is all temporary and all very necessary for you to HEAL. So, try your best to keep yourself busy so youre not thinking so much about eating and follow your doctors eating plan. you'll make it through...it does get better!
I also was wondering what to do about the gas pains in the chest area. Those can be very uncomfortable at times, and I'm wondering what, if anything, I can do/take for relief?
