I'm still on week 1, but so far so good. When I get the itch for something sweet I've been drinking a little bit of light apple juice. I'm still not in the clear for solid foods yet, but hopefully I can keep the sugar cravings away!

My issue was diet coke and regular coffee, and I've had neither in over a week! So proud of myself :)

Hope you find your solution - if you come up with something good, let me know!!

Alyssa,

Mine was Pepsi instead of having a coffee fix in the mornings mine was Pepsi.  I havent had none since Oct 8th and i do miss it now and again.  I get tired of drinking the same thing day in and day out and nice cold Pepsi would taste good lol.

I know some people that drink it with the band on from support meetings but Im just to scared to and I dont want to get back into the habit of drinking it again :o(

I hear ya - I vowed not to have diet coke for the 6 week post-op diet, and I figure if I can go almost 2 months without it, I don't need it anymore!

I will have to find an alternative to order when I go out to dinner or on other occasions. Have you found anything? Iced tea maybe? I don't have to worry about that for a little while, but soon enough I will!

I drin**** Tea during the day. Once I get at least 40 oz of water in I will get me a glass of that.

It seems like Ice Tea and water is all I drink lol.  I can not stand flavored waters for some reason.  I do not know why but even before the lap band I never did like them.

So the "have a fruit instead" never worked for my sweets cravings.  What has always worked is the following:  Werthers original candies  they have many flavors - simply delish and if you really want to get an intense rush, swirl 2 of them in your mouth  desperate times require desperate measures.  Sugar Free Hot Chocolate does it for me too and to make that more intensely sweet, add a Splenda, Equal, Stevia or something.  Baskin & Robins Ice cream flavored candies are amazing - get a load of that cookies & cream, butter pecan etc.,  SF puddings can be nice.  Everything in moderation Doll as always.  I understand the craving!  (((HUGS))) L Werthers Original Sugar Free Candy - 2.75 Oz Each, 12 BagsSugar Free Cookiens N Cream

I LOVE sweets! LOVE them! I still do sweets.............had to modify them a bit. I do protein bars (some of the better ones taste like a candy bar). I also do Greek yogurt almost everyday and add DaVinci sugar free syrups. They have TONS of sugar free flavors.

Jolena I think they do have them at Walmart by the coffee section if I"m not mistaken. I know I have gotten them at Sams. There is a regular and a sugar free variety so make sure u choose one that's sugar free ( I put a link specifically to the SUGAR FREE section of their website in my post).

A lot of stores will have them but most will only have a very limited selection, usually 2-4 flavors. If u go on their website though they have like 50 sugar free flavors!

Also if u have a TJ Max/Homegoods store in your area they get shipments of the DaVinci's a few times a year and usually have a much larger selection than what is in most stores. I bought the sugar free German chocolate cake flavor at the one by my house a few days ago.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!!  Today I bought a protein bar and a few nibbles did the trick.. it was really low on sugar and high in protein but it was just a quick fix and won't be a habit.   Stupid me went to Walmart the other day and hit the after Christmas sale and bought my kids those Terry's Chocolate Oranges.. ( MY FAVORITE).   We only buy them at Christmas, its a tradition.   I salivated putting them on their beds as a surprise for them. But I DIDN"T touch them.. I told the kids ( teenagers) to only eat them in the rooms and it was allowed. haha.
My girls are all skinny little sticks.

BTW I love them Werthers candies, but Holy smokes don't eat more then one in a few hours or its " out of my way I am running to the bathroom"  . I swear in sugar free candy they remove the sugar and add a laxative!!  LOL

Congrads on giving up the sodas.. I gave them up a year ago after seeing a picture of my stomach lining after an endo scope, it was actually irritated from soda and Nsaid abuse.... It was gross.......No carbonated anything now and my belly and instestines love me..

My family has been a wonderful support to me.  I am so blessed to have them and to have found this site to help me. I am so undisciplined and really need these reality checks that I get from here.  Thank you all for your help.  We will all get through this journey together.  :)

Dark Chocolate, the kind that is supposedly really good for you. I can't remember the name. Dr Oz talks about it. It has a high count of something. It doesn't taste too good but it absolutely kills the chocolate cravings.

Thanks for the ideas.. I found Breyers ice cream.. chocolate with chips .. NO SUGAR ( splenda) and its reduced fat.  100 calories a serving and 5 grams of fat , 0 sugar.  its really yummy!!    I am thinking sprinkle some protein powder on that and waaa laaaa.
