Pre-op I would have headed for chocolate, I am a sweet aholic.  Any good products out there low in fat and sugar to help stop cravings?  I was thinking maybe frozen yogurt??   what do you use to help.   I tried a taste of the pudding with choc protein powder mixed in which I love, but its not giving me that relief.

I got the OK to remove the bandages so I soaked the last incision with some baby oil today and softened it up to remove the last of the strips.  what a relief but what a mess!!  That glue is so thick on there, now I have a fuzzy belly. haha.   I won't see my doc til Monday.  Thanks for asking :)

the more sugar or sugar-free stuff I eat, the more I want.

I can't stop it by eating sweet-tasting stuff.

Protein (chicken, beef, pork, eggs, fish) help me -- not sure if you are eating solids yet.

If not, I found that putting some picante sauce in my creamy soups made them very savory and helped with the sugar urges.

I never thought to try protein.. i was looking for something sugar free to try, but maybe I will hit a meatball instead haha.

I didn't go to the doc.. I just worked on the bandages slowlyyyyyyyyyyyy all day and got all but 3 off,   I will leave these until I speak with them.  :) Thanks.

Not sure if your doctor sells healthwise products... I use the Healthwise hot chocolate to help my chocolate cravings, it isn't bad if made with fat free milk.   The mix alone has 15 grams of protein.

Here is the link:

Unfortunately, the products are only sold to physicians : (  If your doctor doesn't sell them, maybe ask them to or there are probably other brands available to purchase.

I eat Pure Protein bars that I get from Sam's.  They only have something like 3 grams of sugar and the carb count is lower then the protein content so I allow myself to eat them.  I have pretty much been on a low carb diet for the last 15 months and this has worked for me.  I eat four meals a day and I eat a Pure Protein bar for breakfast and my 3:30 meal.  Before my lap band, I was an extreme carb and sugar addict.  These protein bars are enough like real chocolate to make my brain think I am eating a candy bar twice a day.  :)

Good Luck!

I use SF pudding and Swiss Miss 25 calorie hot chocolate, but Kath is right.  Even artificial sweetners will make surgar cravings worse.  It's best to go without but I find that if I keep my sugar intake to no more than 5 g per serving I can keep it under control.  It's not easy, but when I was losing weight it worked!  The other thing I use a lot as a treat is peanut butter.  It's sweet but also has protein.  Jus****ch your portion size, (2tbs).

My hubby got me for Christmas Dove's Sugar Free Peanut Butter Creme smooth chocolates.

You get five pieces of them for 200 calories , 19 carbs  and 10 grams of fat.

I havent tried them yet.  I guess I am one of the lucky ones I have never been a sweets eater and just cause I have one piece of chocolate or any kind of sweet does not make me crave for more.

I guess that is why my NUT said I dont have to watch carbs so much , I mean I do but it does not trigger a eating carb binge for me .

This bag of peanut butter things will sit here till I get ready to start my period that is the only time I eat chocolate .

I believe he got them at Walmart they just came out from Dove.

or maybe some hot chocolate ? I dont buy the suger free ones though , there is just certain things I will not go sugar free on  and hot chocolate is one of them lol.

I'm still on week 1, but so far so good. When I get the itch for something sweet I've been drinking a little bit of light apple juice. I'm still not in the clear for solid foods yet, but hopefully I can keep the sugar cravings away!

My issue was diet coke and regular coffee, and I've had neither in over a week! So proud of myself :)

Hope you find your solution - if you come up with something good, let me know!!
