Where can I find Liquid Tylenol?

Good morning everyone! I've been doing lots of reading and making a list of everything to have on hand for after my surgery, and they are saying to make sure to get Liquid Tylenol. Well..... I have looked at RiteAide, CVS, WalMart, KMart, Giant Eagle etc.... and can't find it anywhere. Do they even still make it? or is this something that you get a script for from the Dr? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

Hi Barb - I'm pretty certain that Liquid Tylenol was recalled so it will be hard to find. I've seen alot of suggestions for Children's Tylenol, but check with your doctor to be sure.

You should be able to do fine on regular pills as long as you cut them in half. Remember they will give you pain meds and they come in pill form. I would suggest picking up a little pill cutter from the store, I used mine a few times a day after surgery and still use it to this day for my allergy meds.. I was always told if its bigger then an M&M, then cut it.
Or you might want to look for the chewable ones, Jr. Strength.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Fort Washington, PA (January 14, 2011) – In consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. is voluntarily recalling, at the wholesale level, certain lots of TYLENOL® 8 Hour, TYLENOL® Arthritis Pain, and TYLENOL® upper respiratory products, and certain lots of BENADRYL®, SUDAFED PE®, and SINUTAB® products distributed in the United States, the Caribbean, and Brazil. These products were manufactured at the McNeil plant in Fort Washington, PA prior to April 2010, when production at the facility was suspended. The company is initiating the recall as a precautionary measure after an extensive review of past production records found instances where equipment cleaning procedures were insufficient or that cleaning was not adequately documented. It is very unlikely that this impacted the quality of these products.

I've been using the CVS liquid acetaminaphin and it works just the same. It is the only one I've found to have adult strength liquid.

Since the recall, I've been using children's liquid ibuprofen (my surgeon allows bandsters to use NSAID's). I just have to take a bigger dose. I'd rather have the liquid acetominophen, but when I asked the pharmacist at Walgreen's about getting a generic version of it, he said, "We don't get enough call for that."

My esteem for Walgreen's (and that particular pharmacist) went down a few more notches when he said that. So much for customer service and patient care. If I needed a rarely-prescribed drug to treat a serious medical condition, I'm wondering if Walgreen's would tell me, "Sorry, we can't order that for you. Don't get enough call for that."

I have been unable to find it too! I finally asked my NP and she said it had been recalled. Me: What the heck am I suppose to take for a headache? NP: REGULAR strength tylenol tablets, cut in half...3 at a time.

I had to really look hard to find regular strength but finally found them at WalMart & our local CVS!

I just bought 3 bottles of Liquid Extra Strength Tylenol, Adult Rapid Blast at Hy Vee Drug Store. I think Hy Vee is only located in the Midwest though.

I read on a different board that some are using Jr. Strength chewable Tylenols.

I posted a picture on Facebook letting my family know I needed it and when I went home to Chicago, I was presented with several bottles!

But I didn't have any and work and ran across the street to CVS and they sell their own name brand. Same thing. Except the taste is mediciney!
