sushi
I did sushi about two months out. Eh, nothing to write home about. I think the real experience with sushi is being able to take that whole piece and shove it in you rmouth with some wasabi and ginger and soy soyce, and just enjoy the experience. Well, the pieces are far too big and I panicked the entire time while eating it. I was like chew chew chew. Now Jaclyn said that there is the soy paper, that might have made the experience more rewarding. But for me it was too scary and I didn't enjoy it.
In addition, it just didn't pack the protein punch that I am looking for this early in my journey. So while sushi WAS a favorite, it's definitely not one I'm doing for a long long time.

Thank you so much for all of your replies. You gave me hope that I amy indeed be able to enjoy my favorite one day soon
I may have to add a knife to my sushi dinner! I guess I am not really going to know if I can eat it again until I try it... in baby bites, chew, chew, chew and with soy paper instead of seaweed (which I love). I cannot wait to give it a whirl! Happy to see I have some fellow sushi lovers out there

sashimi all the time (but remember that the tempura flakes and spicy mayo are no diet-friendly... they just slide down the band real easy). Pre-op I would buy 4 or 5 rolls for just me. Now I am good with a naruto roll (no rice, wrapped in cuke) and maybe a couple of sashimi slices. i would wait til your doc clears you, but take small bits and chew, chew, chew ..... AND, thanks a lot!!!! Now I am dying for sushi!!!!!
