Question!

Hello! I was banded 9/14/11 so I am 1 week post op! My question is, after I drink a thicker liquid more like a meal, my left shoulder hurts like a sharp pain, Like having gas in my shoulder...thats the only way i can explain it. Did any of you experience this?

Oh, yes. The gas pain in the shoulder was my most painful post op hurdle. Lots of gas-x strips and walking. It does get better.

Hi! I'm happy your feeling well! I had my surgery on the 6th - my surgeon said the gas could take 2 weeks to completly dissipate. I have to say my abdominal gas took the entire 2 weeks but it got better each day. When I was about 10 days post op I had the left shoulder pain (up until then it had been sternum pain) - I walked a lot around the house and took Gas X every couple of hours. The pain in my shoulder went away by the next morning and hasn't returned. I hope you feel better soon!
