This may sound like a silly question, but how thin do you get your deli meat sliced? I found that having it almost shaved gave me more volume to chew, if that makes any sense. Like it's fluffy!
If I get it cut thicker, it is harder for me to chew well and I can get stuck.
Maybe thinner (shaved) slices might help if ham's giving you stuck issues.

Dang!
I can do really thinly shaved or big hunks (like chicken or ham), but in between = iffy.
Maybe the nutritionist at your clinic could help you out with some alternate ideas.
Do you think your band is a teeny bit too tight? Do you get stuck on other stuff or just the deli meat?
It's such a challenge to get the band tweaked (at least for me) so that you can eat the dense protein they want you to eat without getting stuck on it.
If all else fails, I guess getting OCD about counting the chews might help!

I mostly go for last nights dinner as leftovers for lunch. Or I make up a big skillet of turkey chili and portion that out into 1/2 - 3/4 cup portions and eat that.
I spend a lot of time on the road. One of our local grocery stores sells a chicken leg quarter, you know the ones with the thigh and leg? It's 1.99 and they of course bake it. I peel the skin off and toss it, then I take the meat off and eat it. LOL usually I'm driving and this is done with my hands, I know gross.
Today I resorted to an oldie but a goodie, deli turkey on grains first crackers with laughing cow cheese wedges.
