Thank you so much for you info, I'm glad to get as much as possible. I heard that a lot of gas builds up after the surgery in different parts of the body and the best way to get rid of it is to walk. I hope that doesn't take long to get rid of.

Yes, lots of gas. They will give you meds for it.  It was gone within a week for me.

I was off about a week. however, I am older. Another girl was out 3 days. She was younger than me and worked with me. It is definitely trial and error. I learned alot about bread in the beginning. Today, i am careful about bread. Definitely depends. Make sure you walk when you have surgery to get rid of the gas that can get traped in your shoulder. But don't do like me and walk 19 laps around the hospital floor and then not be able to walk the next day. I tried to go from being a non moving person, to an athelete! ha ha, yep for me that was athletic. Good luck to you!

So, your surgery in on a Thursday and he thinks you will go back to work on Monday?

That might be fine -- I had my surgery on a Friday and I went home the same day.
I did not need any pain meds, so I was driving myself to the store the next day.

I could have worked from my desk by Monday -- but was glad to have the week off.

I took a nap every day -- I was tired because I was not sleeping all night -----

No lifting of anything heavier than 10 pounds --- but if you work from a desk, you will probably be ok.
