Topic: RE: Need Custom-Made Pants?
Another member of our men's LE group contributed the link to this co., too. They even custom fit uniforms, including U.S. military:

Topic: Need Custom-Made Pants?
One of the members of our Men W. Lymphedema Yahoo group (a/k/a "The 'dema Dudes") passed along this website of a company that will custom-make a pair of jeans, slacks, etc. for you (guys and gals) for only about $70 per pair. He had used them before and was quite happy with the workmanship of their tailors. This is a great service for anyone who needs pants of a certain unsual size, that has limbs that are one size larger than the other, etc.:

Well, I found the solution to my problem - VSG!
Seriously, unless I am on my feet for a LONG time now or sit with my legs cramped, I have not had edema since surgery!
GO TEAM VSG!

Topic: RE: Big weight loss from night to morning ...
If you have edema you can fluctuate weight all the time. I always have about a 5lb different between waking in the AM and going to bed in the PM......and it sucks! I always weigh in the AM and at the same time. However, you may also be losing some fat along with water, so good for you!!! A loss is a loss...as I see it! Good luck and keep up the good work!
Topic: RE: Edema
Good morning! I too have horrible swelling in my feet and lower legs, especially, and sometimes in my hands and lower arms. I do have a dx of pitting edema, but not lymphedema. I have tried massage, which worked for about an hour and then as soon as gravity set in and I was up and walking around all the fluid settled back into my legs/feet.
Currently I take Maxide (diuretic), and am horrible at remembering to take it, but it does help slightly, but not as much as I would like it to. Also, I sleep with a pillow folded in half under my side of the bed mattress (between the mattress and box spring) to help elevate and redirect fluids through the night.
I would suggest asking someone to massage your legs and ankles upward to help redistribute water and see if you can get on a low dose diuretic, just be careful if you already have low BP, as this can lower it even more. I am hoping with surgery this will lessen a huge amount.... Right now it's the only comorbidity I have, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Let me know if you find something that works for you and good luck!

I had a bout with celluitis this spring. My PCP took care of it. 3 sessions of IV antibiotics, and Keflex for maintenance, although, with my Ds surgery coming up on Wednesday, I have been off the Keflex for about three weeks now.
Ac tually, a trip to Fort Wayne would also be covered for me under Medicaid, so I could go there!

This would have been the PT in the Lymphedema Clinic. The doctor has to approve or deny patients for treatment. I will look around Indianapolis for treatment. I just received my compression garment last week, and, it will fit for a while.
I've got 217 pounds to lose, and surgery is this coming Wednesday. As long as I have medicaid, I can b e transported to and from treatment.
I also had ab out with panniculitis this past spring. My PCP took care of that.
