I just turned 39, I don't know how much longer I can make babies!!! lol.

I've suffered from migraines since I was a kid, they are just awful. Mine are brought on by that TOM.  I've tried Imitrex, Frova and that class of drugs gives me awful sinus infections. I know, I'm a strange one, or so the drs tell me... but thanks for pointing those meds out. A lot of folks don't really know of them yet. I'm hoping that weight loss would help esp since I know a lot of our estrogen is stored in our fat cells.

I've thought of you too Cira. How's the DH and kids making out?

I was 42 when I had Gia. Just make sure to have your FSH checked out and see how that looks.

As for the migraines I don't suffer like I used to before surgery.  It is minimal now and it is easy to ward off as soon as you feel one coming. I used to take imitrex and a few different meds but I can't take it since I am nursing my baby.  I really do not feel the need to use it anymore though.

Gino is doing great! He only has 30 pounds to reach goal. Thank you for asking.

The kids are good getting big.  I can not believe that Gia Makaila will be 1 in just a week and a half!  She is a tiny little thing and she cut her first tooth the end of January and just cut the second bottom tooth 3 days ago! She the only one of my children that has cut their first tooth this late.  Since she is the last one she is not in no rush to make room for more. lol

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hi Angie - I'm Candy.  Nice to meet you.

Have you considered the Lapband?  I chose that because I do want to get pregnant when I lose the weight - and then be able to lose that pregnancy weight. afterwards using the same lapband.

I am 36 going on 37 and am in my last year of the MBA program, so I'm kinda hoping I can slip a mickey in my husband's drinks, and then we can be surprised at getting pregnant!  LOL - In the meantime, because of school, I have an IUC to keep me from getting pregnant as I'm losing the weight.

Just a thought?

Hello, I havent had surgery either. I dont want to do bypass due to it being to invasive. I am considering lapband. I am curious about vsg as well. I wish there were easy answers but I know there are alot of answers here. Good luck on you wls choice..

Yes, I have thought of the lap band but nixed it.  I'm not dissing anyone who makes that decision, rather pointing out the reasons I don't want it for me.  Both the VSG and Lap band are restriction-only procedures.  The VSG removes approximately 80% of your stomach, therefore no fills are required, no artifical devices are put inside me.  From what I've read, the lap band can erode or slip, etc. and requires maintenance (i.e. fills) . The part of the stomach that the VSG removes also contains the hunger producing hormone Grehlin so there is typically less hunger as well.

Also, as Diana does point out, the DS has the best long term results for *curing* comorbidities.  I'd do think the VSG is perfect for my situation; however, should I be one of those persons whom the surgery fails or who fails the surgery, it will be a logical transion to 'add' the switch part as the restriction will already be done.

I think the surgeries currently available are diverse and everyone needs to be as educated as possible and make the best situation for their life style and needs.

Nice to meet you too Candy and Julie!
