Hi I have BC&BS fed as well. Did the copay for surgery go up? Do you have to pay all for anesthesia or just part? I have spoke to them twice and got 2 different stories. I dont know whats right...Thanks, Julie

Julie, ask them to send it to you in writing that way you can pin point the details or throw darts at it!  Good luck!

My surgery for the Lapband was about $6,800 at St. Agnes Hospital. I guess because I didn't use the pain meds?

i have fed bc/bs too, cause of my wonderfull hubby!!!!  He works for usaf.  i didnt believe it would be so easy, but after all it was very easy.  I will have a small co pay and thats about it.  I think its like 100 for the doc and thats the only co pay i have.  bcbs fed is great great great.  I always say though, this is one reason i will take my new life seriously and do things right and not take it for granted.  There are so many people *****ally need to do this and just cant because they have no insurance or their insurance wont cover it or they have to go through all of the crap to get thier surgery like diet history and such.

Fed BC/BS is great...only have to be 100 lbs over weight...approval is really fast ,took me less then a week and I was a lightweight...only paid $100 and $15 copay to Doc.  that was five years ago though. Very good insurance for WLS.

Hi!
A newbie here so have patience with me please!
I have BCBS Standard with the US Postal Service.
I'm submitting for Vertical Sleeve surgery approval but I’m afraid they will turn it down as being to new of a procedure.
I really cannot do the RNY or Band due to my prescription for Nabutamone an NSAID (non-steroid anti-inflammatory)
I take it for back pain and it dissolves in the small intestine. It could cause ulcers w/t the band and with the RNY it would not be absorbed.

Me:
BMI - 46
Current Weight - 256
Surgeon - Dr. Enochs
