All I can say is:  YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

I had one this past weekend and it was the best steak salad I ever ate ..  Juicy, tender, lean steak .. chopped up in small pieces on a bed of lettuce with a few raw purple onion rings, tomato wedges, some boiled egg 1/2s and a couple of small cheddar cheese wedges ..  Of course comes with rolls and/or corn muffins .. All under $10!

(btw, you have to hunt for it on the menu .. it's on the special "low carb" one)

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Sounds good. I'll look for it next time. I had the grilled catfish @ Cracker Barrell a couple of months ago and it was damned good also. Cracker Barrell is a pretty good choice for us WLSers.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

I thought so too, Fish. But the nutritionists and Doc's at Vandy don't.  They said that Cracker Barrell uses pure lard to cook with (guess that's why their food is so appealing to us Southern boys), which is not good for us.

I thought by eating there and getting the eggs or an omelet I was doing good. Guess I was wrong.

I'll be damned. Maybe that's why that bowl of squash tasted so good.

Here's all ya need to know about Cracker Barrel from the dietfacts.com website which tracks nutritional info on all major restaurants. Cracker Barrel gets the "fatboy badge of shame" despite their food being extremely tasty.

By the way, the info from dietfacts.com uploads automatically into fitday.com if you're tracking calories IN and eat out a lot. It's a very cool interface.

Not real surprising our good ol' southern food really likes the pig. Its hard to even order vegetables that don't have fatback, hog jowls, ham hocks or bacon in it, green beans, white beans you name it, love it all but gotta leave it small price to pay. Did really like the wifes biscuits with sausage gravy? Oh well maybe the taste buds would find that disgusting now.
