Mens fat camp
OK I am thinking out loud here a bit. But I guess I was thinking of hosting either a week or weekend camp at my hunting ranch during the off season for OH guys. I am not looking to charge or make any money. and the only expense would be the meals, and transportation there and home for everyone so it wouldn't be really expensive at all. Well since Wyoming is quite a way from many of you that all by its self might be an expense I guess. So I am looking for your feed back.
I can plan things to do, including exploring the natural landscape there, ATVing and off road biking (if you have an off-road bike, off-roading, skeet shooting, target shooting, and if anyone is willing to pay the rental, horse back riding (yes they still rent horses) and exercise activities. There are natural land marks to see near here like "Hells Half Acre, part of The Oregon Trail, and Ft. Custard to name some. There is a huge water reservoir near by that has great fishing.
Would anyone be interested? And if so anyone have any activities in particular they would like included. (Yeah I know a trip into town for the bar. Did I mention the casino in Riverton WY?) Also would a long weekend be better or a full week? Here are some pictures of my place to guide you by.

I own 160 acres, but its the 40,000 acres of federal land next to me that makes it way more than you can explore in a weekend. You could fly in and rent an 4x4 on hunting trips I just pick people up at the airport. Casper international airport is about 12 miles down the hwy from the turn off to my place there. From that point it's two track for another 8 miles. So this is a very remote location.
Now as for meals, MREs would be OK, and to quote Crocodile Dundee, "you can eat them but they taste like dung". OK maybe MREs aren't all that bad, but I think we can do better than that in cattle country. For hunting trips I do have someone I can hire who cooks meals. We could do that or I could just put together a menu that is WLS compatible and pick up supplies in town on my way there. I am not too shabby of a cook myself.
On week long hunting trips here's what it costs to keep my camp open:
Propane Fuel* $30.00 a day - for the camp
Water* $00.75 a day - for the camp
Food $25.00 to 35.00 a day/per person
So if there are say 10 guys that makes the cost about $35 to $40 a day. Add misc. stuff like clay pigeons, toilet paper, etc and about $50 a day per person would be about the most it would cost. I will try to to keep it under that amount and will work out actual cost once I know how many, when and what everyone agrees that want to do while we are there. Not bad for meals and a place to stay. You have to bring your own sleeping bag and I don't put a mint on your pillow. I also have no problem with pot luck or everyone just bringing their own food. A consensus can decide that. I guess that's part of the feed back I need from you guys
*Generator, heater and ho****er heater all use propane. Water I tank in because I get 250 gallons of filtered drinking water in town.
Oh and just so you don't have to ask, you can shoot that 44 mag of yours all you want there, just don't shoot the cabins or us please! You do have to bring your own ammo.
I do have formal camp rules, I will post them here when I get home today.

Can we find a steer for dinner? Maybe a little moonshine to round out the camp atmosphere. Some camp beans, cigars and a mighty FART or 10
Great offer but I'll pass
I like the idea of a fat camp - maybe Tahiti, Christ Church, Bavaria, ST Kitts hot and cold running asian girls, no treadmills, protein shakes, bottled water, just fine rum and red meat., live lobster, I'll pitch in for that LOL
Like the pics - what do u hunt for?
lol this reminds me of that Movie with Billy Crystal "City Slickers" I was joking about the MRE's, they bind you up. Moonshine, I just had some rasberryshine was good till you ate a berry then you had to lay down.
ummm, have you ever had someone shoot the cabin? There is this indoor range I go to and just above your head there are a ton of bullet holes. I don't understand how someone could shoot up there.
My 44 would stay home on the first trip. Just so people can see who I am as a person and not a high strung hot head with a big ass gun. I'd then pull a smaller plinker .22 out my bag.. haha

Unidos,
No one has shot the cabin yet, but I have had several vehicles shot, including my jeep and my truck. My jeep took an 30 cal wound when an uncle of mine, who has since passed away tried to shoot a coyote after just a few too much Jack Daniel. I had to replace the tonneau cover on my truck last fall after someone shot (not from my camp and most likely a trespasser) it from the federal land. In Wyoming it is illegal to cross private land to access federal land without permission. I never use to have people prosecuted before, but I will now. I have a spin target for 22 cal. I can bring a couple of 22 rifles and my 22 pistol for target shooting.
I always keep my 44 with me there. Can you say mountain lion and rattle snake? You don't see them often, but when you do you feel a lot better with a 44 by your side. I shot 3 rattlesnakes last fall in 10 weeks of being there.
I also have 3 ATVs. Two 300cc 4x4 - 4x2 on demand, with automatic cvt trans and one 650cc dump box utility atv. There is an ATV rental place in town and if ATVing is something everyone wants to do rentals are not cheap, about $300 but it can be done. Otherwise its take turns.
