This is one of the neatest animations I have seen to date of performing a lap DS and how the "stuff flows" afterward  ..  Makes it seem "realistic" and 3-D, yet is not "gross" ..  It takes awhile to load (and "re-buffer"), but is well worth the wait  (click on the "click here to load animation" on the page)

Nicely done and easy to understand. That's perfect for showing people in my life what I'm having done without getting all technical.
 Best Wishes,

Thank you so much for posting this!  I am trying to explain to a couple of people close to me how my insides will work and this fills the bill very nicely without making people squeamish.

Nice.  I like the animated link.  However, I think some of the info might be inaccurate to a small degree.  "Pouch" is used as terminology.

Body by God; alterations by Buchwald.  I love Jesus.  I so so so appreciate my DS.

That term "pouch" for the sleeve gives me fits, too ..

We had a member post a copy of her operative report recently, and in it even her own surgeon referred to the sleeve he was creating as a "pouch", as well as "roux limb" for the alimentary limb ..     Apparently those are "state of the art" terms used in "constructive" abdominal surgery, so that is what some surgeons use in their descriptions of the procedure.    IMHO, this use of terms just further contributes to the general public confusion of "gastric bypass" surgery with DS and maybe even reflects a tendency of some WLS surgeons to think of DS as a "variation" of RNY rather than unique in and of itself  ..
