I Got Off My Butt Today - Sunday Edition

Back when I was a noob, some of the older guys posted an exercise thread every day so that we could brag about how much ass we kicked that day. Even if all you did was shave your back today, that's still exercise. Let's support each other's exercise goals cause in the end when the surgery's through doing it's thing, the only thing  that will matter is how many habit's you changed.

Me? 45 minutes on the elliptical. Thought about lifting bu****ched the Cowboys/Bucks instead. And then took a nap. Maybe tomorrow.

Yesterday - Tore off roof shingles from my workshop, replaced 5 sheets of roof decking.

Today - Cut broken limb out of tree in my mother's yard. Then, trimmed the shrubs and weeded the flower beds. Painted the porch and steps at my sister's house. Then came home and repaired the mail box post and weeded the flower beds.

Next!

Tell the truth, Bob. What are the chances that you would've gotten your ass up on top of your roof pre-op?

Fish, the truth is I couldn't get my big azz up there 16 months ago. Nor did I have the energy or stamina to remove the rotted decking and replace it. I just couldn't physically do it back then at nearly 400 lbs.  But now . . . there ain't no stopping me man!  Some of my friends don't understand how  I can actually enjoy doing physical labor and hard work.  But I remember when I wanted to do things and couldn't because of my obesity and poor health.  Now, it's a blessing to be able to do those physical things and I love doing them!!  After being where I was, I'll never take feeling good and being healthy for granted!

Amen Bro. I remember when I used to mow until the grass catcher filled up and then go inside and cool down before I came back out and hauled the grass catcher out to the alley. I was too damned fat to have enough energy to haul the clippings away w/o resting. Nowadays I do front and back non-stop w/o even thinking about going in for a drink. It is a blessing to be able to do some hard physical work. And I'm back in to a good lifting binge again. I just have to recover 3 days between workouts instead of 2. But that's a function of age and lack of testosterone I think.

We buried my Father-In-Law yesterday morning.  Later in the evening while everyone took a nap I took a 25 mile ride on my mountain bike.  I wanted to work out today and do some cardio but the past week took it's toll on me....I was just too tired.  I did watch: 1) Colts vs Jaguars 2) Giants vs Redskins 3) Cardinals vs 49ers  4) Bears vs Packers  Tomorrow will be cardio and weights...no excuses, no exceptions.

The Browns were getting beat by the Vikings.. so i went shopping at three stores. Then I cut the lawn. And walked about a mile and a half.  I completed day seven of my pre-op 800 Cal/day liquid protien diet. Just a little weak.

Rearranged the garage, prepping for painting and finishing the floor. Cleaned my desk, and walked 2.25 miles with the dogs.

Celebraed with a nice cigar.
