I originally thought that I would only get weighed when I went to a doctor's office. I had a problem that I couldn't get an accurate reading on most doctor's scales when I weighed between 450 and 550 lbs. Furthermore, I had difficulty getting on a scale. So, I limited myself to just a few scales that had integrated handrails. That worked well for my initial weight loss. Besides, I realized that I didn't bother weighing myself as I was gaining the weight.
Fast forward to this year when I was 4 years post-op and decided to try and lose some more weight (I'm still morbidly obese). I decided to get weighed once a week but within a few months I found that I was better waiting to get weighed once a month.
As you go along, you'll find what works best for you.
