OK Guys, What Do You Eat, How Much
Sometimes I think I eat to much and sometimes no enough. Just wondering what and how much of it you guys eat. I seem to be able to eat an average size bowl of soup which goes down and things like that. I eat 3 or 4 ozs of chicken and smoe veggies or whole wheat pasta, maybe 2 or 3 oz of that. I can eat a slice of pizza but have only had that twice. I try to limit to one meat and a few bites of a side dish. Just wondering what the rest of you eat. On the RNY board the gals talk about eating 1/4 cup of food at a time, or a couple ozs and I eat more than that and was hoping I was not having to much.
Thanks,
David

Its the proteins first good carbs next. Pizza, pasta is to many cals and carbs to give up for my protein needs. 4 +oz of meats small side. Soup is a slider and comfort food and will count as carbs and cals first. But today I made that choice. Protein intake around 85-95 per day. This is a rule for post WLS. I'am on a 1900 cal diet from DOC.
Good luck
Good luck
Thnaks;
Are you still losing at 1900 cals a day? I don't get that many but then again I'm not real active either. I get maybe 1600 a day but do not want to lose anymore. I did those calories things that tell you how much you should get and the lowest number to maintain at my size is 2100 a day.
Thanks again,
David

I eat 4oz of meat at a meal, some veggies and some starch (potato or rice). I always eat on an 8" plate and only eat what fits on there along with the meat. I usually eat chicken, steak or seafood. A couple meals per day are a ham and swiss sandwich on whole grain bread, I like Brownberry Healthnut. It helps me keep things moving. Breakfast is always 3/4 cup Kashi Go Lean cerial with whole lactaid milk. When I start to get too light I add a half sandwich at bed time and that will help me keep my weight up.

I'm not even three months post op.. So I eat seven small meals a day. Protein first.
Outside of my trip to a restaurant last night when I ate a quarter head of lettuce and a 7 oz filet mignon... I usually eat about 4 oz of chicken or turkey.. And about 90 grams of steamed veggies. That's usually my big meal of the day. Otherwise I'll eat half the suggested serving size on the side of a container when it comes to yogurt and cottage cheese. Usually I eat one serving of steamed veggies or berries ( like blueberries or blackberries)
I usually keep my daily fat below 15 grams... carbs below 50 grams.. calories below 700.. and I try to eat at least 65 grams of protein.. but I average about 89 grams of protein.
I weigh everything and write it down. Otherwise I'll just lie to myself about portion size.
and liquids and vitamins of course.

I eat 4000-5000 cals a day... 40%protein, 30% Carbs, 30% Fats. Breakfast is typically whole wheat eggos with peanut butter and maybe a banana. Second breakfast post workout is usually 50G protein shake, granola almonds or other assorted nuts. I snack on Banana chips granola bars, fruit, nuts, and fiber one bars. Lunch is usually a subway sandwhich or chix & veggies. I also snack on beef jerky. Dinner is whatever. Chix, steak, salmon, veggies, rice / potatoes. I eat a lot to sustain my activity level, and food is just fuel now. No fuel, no performance. Bad fuel = bad performance. I run 40-50 miles p/ week, cycle 150-175 miles a week, and swim 8-10 miles p/ week along with weight training. If you want to lose weight rapidly eat more. When you eat irregularly or sporatically, your metabolism slows down to hold on to the nutrition in the little foods that you eat. When you feed your body consistantly throughout the day with 6-7 meals, your metabolism can get a kick start, provided you are being active and are excercising regularly... Best of luck...I typically eat 150-175g of protein a day, I am trying to make gains right now so I am shooting for 950g of carbohydrate per day, and try to include olive oil salmon and nuts for my good fats... The key to success I believe is healthy food choices, a balance diet, excercise, and proper suplementation.

If you want to post this on a health and fitness board go ahead, but telling the guys in the Men's forum that you can eat 4000-5000 calories per day is setting the vast majority of them up for failure. Most of us just want to be a normal size and that means about 2000 carories a day on maintenance.
Maybe you can eat that much with the current exercises that you are doing, but just wait for the couple of weeks after an injury when you cant control your eating and you start to regain your lost weight. Sounds to me like you cross addicted from food to Triathelons.
