help please for hubby/vasectomy?

OK guys, you are all I have, other than the surgeon, so please don't get mad that I am here.
I could have signed in under hubby's account, but some of you do know me.

Hubby had a vasectomy on Friday.  Not fun as some of you may know.

He had his RNY September of 2009.

This morning he keeps getting really hot and then going and dry heaving.

Anyone had any experience or have any advice? 
I know dry heaves are not an uncommon thing after WLS.  He does not seem to have any other symptoms to indicate that he picked up a virus of any sort.
Although feeling like you got kicked in the nuts might be enough...

Swelling and pain are normal.............vomiting is not.

Unless he has signs of infection....red scrotum with possibly pus coming out of his incision site.

The kind of sepsis from infection to cause vomiting would also present as a very sick person.....

In over 30 years  in medicine , I have not heard of a similar presentation post vasectomy.

You should call the MD who performed the surgery and let them now.

Also tight fitting briefs or jock strap for support, ice pack for 20 minute on 2hrs off and repeat as needed, he should be lying down as much as possible.

Some men have very mild symptoms post vasectomy and others have marked pain , and discomfort for up to 2 weeks.

I agree with chicomd, I had a mild infection that needed meds. I did get nausious but never heaved. this may be increased due to the proceedure. in any case call the doc and soon!

I have an inkling that someone drank his morning hot protein chocolate a little too fast and started freaking when a pouch does what a pouch does.  Although he claims he did not drink it too fast.

He seemed much better within an hour or two, or at least the dry heaves part was better.

He has no interest for some reason in placing frozen items on his boys ~shrugs~ and now that everything is swollen to hugenormous proportions he doesn't seem to want to pull up the tightie whities.  What's a bunny to do?  Can't exactly force a guy to ice his testicles unless he wants to be forced.

No, it's always so much easier for a woman who has already had a c-section, a hernia repaired in the same area, and another hernia, oh plus a RNY 6 months ago to have an invasive surgical procedure done.  ~laughs~

It's not really mutilation, a couple of tiny snips in your sac and a couple of weeks of discomfort.  Heck my dad had his and went home and banged my mom right away to ensure the plumbing still worked.  ~ not a recommended idea though as residule spermies can make babies.~

But yeah, I get it and was surprised my my hubby asked for a referral to get it done.  His idea, not mine.

Whatever you say, but it is easy to say when it is not your ball sac that is getting the snips.  From what you describe the discomfort is major pain.  What I am saying if the woman that concerned about getting knocked up maybe she need to have sex with someone else.  Someone who is stupid enough to let you think it your idea to get it, LOL what a fool.....  Yah I am sure your nagging and dropping hints had nothing to do with it.  He did it to shut you up and get sex out of you.  Sounds like you all should not reproduce anyway, I am sure the world will be better off without fat little ones running around. LOLOL.

 It sounds to me like he might have an infection ..  Does he actually have a measurable fever, or does he just have the sensation of "feeling hot"? 

 Did the doc give him any antibiotics as a prophylactic measure at the time of his vasec.? 

 Although there may not be an outward sign of infection (yet), there could be one inside the scrotum where the epid was cut ..  If things do not improve he might want the doc to do an ultrasound to see if anything is amiss in there ..
