I got the phone call today. My VSG procedure was approved by my insurance and my surgery date was scheduled for November 26th!!!
GREAT NEWS!!!

Strong meme game this week John! That one might be able to last us through two weeks.
Don, my wife and daughter are going to Taylor Swift at AT&T in a couple of weeks. I have heard that stadium is pretty amazing but I've never been.
Bill - ouch.
Back to work this week. It went well, no impromptu naps in my office. I worked from home on Wednesday which helped break the week up, I think I'm going to do the same this week. Watched parts about 4 different games yesterday. Some of Notre Dame, Army, Ohio State/TCU and most of Baylor getting drilled by Duke. The big news around these parts was Wisconsin losing at home to BYU. College football Saturday's are the best.

Last week I was at 260. This week I am at 258 1/2. I am on narcotic pain killers for the third time this summer. I'm not a wimp. I just keep having painful stuff happen to me. This last event was stubbing my toe twice over a period of several weeks. So what's so painful about that? It really hurts when the second time, you rip your big toenail half off all the way down to the quick, and then have to get the doc to chop it the rest of the way off - again down at the quick. It didn't even weigh enough to make a difference at the scale. I am two days past that and no pills today, so that's a positive move.
Have a good week everyone!

Like 'em or not Alabama is TOUGH for any team! Skinning the Land Sharks of the University of Mississippi, PC has taken over there no longer Rebels and dropping Ol' Miss, was certainly appreciated at the football watching party we were at in Tyler. Mississippi State plays there November 10th. State easily handled LSU-Lafayette 56-10 and with a last seconds chip shot LSU dropped Auburn by one - in Auburn. Ohio State beat TCU and the Longhorns gouged the Trojans. Giants come to "Jerryworld", AT&T Stadium, to play the Cowboys in their home opener.
Managed to mow Monday after Dr. appointment and there was enough regrowth to mow yesterday. Ready for that weekly chore to end for the year. Getting close to it. The drive through Christmas light park opens in two months.
Know what I need to do to get the numbers better. Just a matter of doing it!
Have a Great Week!!

Not a bad week because I reduced snacking, but still could have done better with food. I was able to get in a decent bike ride last Sunday, but had to blow off a 75 mile ride yesterday to get ready for a business trip today. Speaking of which, business trip to Colorado this week means I need to be careful with Mexican food again. This will also be a tough week for activity. I'll be taking a three day vacation next weekend to hang out in the Wisconsin Dells with Family, so I'll be absent from the weigh in.
The Michigan game wasn't televised here, so I tried watching Alabama. Ughh. After 10 minutes I had to do something else. I should have stayed up to watch Ohio State, but didn't. With the trip today, I'll miss out on most of the pro games also.
See you in a couple weeks.

Checking in late due to family and such. I swelled up like a tick this past week, gaining five pounds in seven days. I am pretty sure it is due to water, since I haven't changed any of my long term habits. We'll see how things change in the coming days. Even if it sticks, I'll be happy. I am at 260 right now, with an absolute low of 255. I've got skin surgery pending in a few weeks. That will help things and cause problems all at the same time, so I am not looking to stabilize until sometime in December.

I think we hit a high of 60 today. Rained all day. The cold weather makes me bored and tired, which worries me about gain. I put a few lbs on last winter and managed to take them off this summer. I'd still like to drop 10 -15 more. Honeymoon period is over, sleeve is doing its job, but definitely not a walk in the park.
Good week to all!

Don, that Clemson/Texas A&M game was great. That wide receiver for A&M looks like he will play on Sundays. Kentucky last beat Florida a few weeks after me and my wife started dating and we will be celebrating our 28th anniversary this fall.
Headed back to work this week. We will see how it goes, but I'm feeling pretty good right now. Starting to eat a little cottage cheese, ricotta, etc. but taking it slow. I've been fortunate that i have had an easy time with fluids.
OK, these numbers are bananas:

Mississippi State handily disposed of Kansas State, Kudos to Clemson for dropping the Aggies and Kentucky for beating Florida and State's former coach Dan Mullens. Cowboys and Panthers this afternoon. Maybe get on treadmill this afternoon after small Tyler run. Did not get on the treadmill like I wanted to be this week and Mother Nature has washed out yard work this weekend. Starting to need mowing since not done in last two weeks. Grass + rain = more to mow. Maybe catch it tomorrow if it is dry enough. Sick day tomorrow for doctor appointment.
Remember to turn off the computer and go outside and play this week!!

No change in eating or exercise, but what the heck. I'll take the weigh in. The biggest change for me I suppose is trying to reduce snacking at night.
Fall is here.....I'm headed out to a morning bike event in St Paul, and the darn temp is 50 degrees. Damn its cold to start. This morning i'll be riding fast to warm up. For you newbies, before surgery I was always hot. Post surgery, I'm almost always cold. Be prepared for winter.
Yesterday I was getting gas, and the person next to me said they were heading about 4 hour up north to see the leave turning WTF??
Michigan cam roaring back yesterday. that was fun to watch. Tomorrow, I get to see the Patrica ear start in Detroit. Fall is definitely in the air.
Have a great week all
