I dont know you yet hon cuz I am pretty new to the boards and as you can see quite new to the sleeve. However in the past in other boards the same thing has happend to me. I get tired of seeing nonsense that just doesnt belong so I leave but no more, I decided I am not going to let them win and make ME leave. You shouldnt let them make YOU leave. Dont let them win sweety.
I know you are upset right now but like I always tell my loved ones never ever make a decision when you are mad, most times its not the right one. I hope you reconsider.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but I wouldn't leave over it. On another board I belong to, we use the SOB technique - "scroll on by" the threads that will annoy or upset you. Separate the wheat from the chaff. Let the chaff fall off the board.

Don't leave us! There are lots of us who agree with you politically. Stick around and we'll talk about WLS and will keep the politics out of it. That's why we're here. I too am sick of the "sky is falling" mentality and I have close relatives that I agree to disagree with. Let's talk about weight loss issues.

I check this forum at least once a day, mostly as a lurker right now. (I think I've posted maybe once before.) I had to come out of lurkdom to second what moparmemaw and others have said. I'm about as progressive (or liberal if you prefer) as they come, and I frequent a few politically-oriented sites. However, I come to this forum for the WLS community. I read one of the threads in question, and I almost wish I hadn't since I think I added high blood pressure as a co-morbidity about half-way through. However, I did some selective blocking and focused on all the valuable comments in that thread and in many others.

This forum has been a source of hope, inspiration and information for me, and you are part of it. I hope you change your mind and decide to stay.

I work in politics, too, so politics is a very important part of my life. However, this is a WLS site. I, too, was quite irritated that someone brought politics into the discussion. I almost posted asking what any of the usless noise had to do with the VSG. But, instead, I just let my blood boil as I read the insane drivil. Then, I stopped reading for a day. But, I really need these boards during my weight loss journey so here I am again.

If I want to discuss politics I just go over to ABC News, CNN or some other news site. There is a time and place for everything and the next time someone starts something like that I will block them.
